If you are interested in the lore of this game, and oh boy is there a lot and more to come, I'd recommend a channel called Necrit. His whole thing is the lore of this game, tho if you go too far back you will see non cannon material because about I think 4-5 years ago Riot did huge overhaul of the lore. Just something to keep a heads up for.

Which I'm still kind of sore about. I mean, the new lore isn't bad, it's well written, but it usually only deals with their backstory. Old lore used to give a a backstory as well as an explanation as to why they were in fighting in the League (Ministry of War and all that was retconned with the lore overhaul).

You are wrong about that! The whole world is getting explored by the moment. And the League had to be removed, it was just bad storytelling as all the old lores. But if you like to get an explanation on the League, it is kinda cannon again since Ezreals rework! As it seems all the skins are cannon now too. Pulsefire Ezreal gives us the hint that all skin universes are connected and the league is like an interdeminsional match. But it will probably not influence the main lore in any way, so treat it as a like secondary lore.

They a many different "classes" (it's actually factions) but the three most important ones to be more aware of are Noxus- They are "the bad guys" in the Cinematic (Except the big robotic dude) and value Strength and Freedom in mankind Demacia-They are not seen in the Cinematic but they value Order and it makes them enemies with Noxus (they are mage-cist against alot of people who has some access to magic but a few acceptions) Ionia - Few of them are seen in the Cinematic and they are lush with magic (making them enemies of Demacia) and Noxus enjoys raiding their Homeland too it seems (Making them enemies with Noxus)

They are actually in the process of redoing every characters lore, adding a bio and a story from their life for each. If you have the time and are interested, the lore is worth the read.

i wouldn't say there is an actully lore in league, sure every champion has it's own background, some champions stories intertwine with each other, some are friends, some archenemies, some are even siblings. Basiclly what the game is, is a 5v5 (3v3 exist too) game where you get to pick any champion and make a team to defeat the opponent team by getting passed the enemies lines destroying guardian towers, inhibitor and to reach the center core and destroy it. Along the way there is things you can pick up such as buffs, money (to buy unique items) to boost your champion or your allies. I think you would love LoL, just an advice don't bother with toxic players because they are everywhere and only looking for ruining the experience for other players.
