@@Mr_Fr34ky I said that because from the past few months I turned Oracle into my main hero, since I'm low bracket no one usually plays him, and he was a bit weird for me at the begging, but now i have a good win rate with him (even managed a RAMPAGE one match with him). And even Axe on my bracket doesent know how to properly counter me. He is such a strong carry: too much magic damage or too much auto attack damage on the other team? go max second skill need dispel and root/disable? max 1st spell Needs a ton of dmg and healing? max 3rd spell and ult is a shallow grave but better. Oracle's shard is also so good, an Aoe dmg over time with healing and healing amp. that mixed with holy trinket gets a ton of healing. you can even build an euls or if there is someone like legion just buy an aeon disk... and you have everything you need: arcane boots, holy trincket, shard and aeon or euls and you are good up to 50min (anything else is just a bonus). Since people loves picking Zeus, Venomancer, Legion, Jug, Necro on my bracket it's a hero that just cancels all this heroes. The only one that Oracle has an actual difficulty on is: Silencer, Terror Blade, PL, Lifestealer, Timbersaw and MAYBE BloodSeeker. It's generally a win situation if none of these are on the enemy team, and even if they are you can still win

Let it sit. Then Tap>tap. then let it sit again. its like rhythm game

Really important for carry in Dota. Because of hero turn rate, trying to kite while auto-attacking tanks your dps. Especially late game when you have a lot of attack speed, stopping attacking to turn and walk 3 feet backwards between attacks will actually cut your attack rate (and dps) in half. Also when you're playing Huskar, because of his third ability, it can actually be good to walk around just with the armlet turned on. Being at full hp isn't important to him, and you'll reach a point where you actually stop losing hp, giving you a massive permanent attack speed buff. That game wouldn't have been the best for it just because of Skywrath Mage, but buying a cloak would help with that a lot. The 3 early game items Wraith Band, Bracer, and Null Talisman double in effectiveness at 25 minutes. Because you don't tend to sell the unupgraded versions, it's definitely worth upgrading them early. For reference, an Ogre club costs 1000 gold and gives 10 strength. A bracer at 25 minutes costs 505 gold and gives 10 strength and many other stats. If you were selling them to pay for other items, they wouldn't be worth it, but because you're keeping them so long it's very worth it. Especially on Huskar who really wants raw strength and hp regen. Finally, I suggest taking an hour to read the heroes and their abilities. It will help you with target priority. In the Huskar game, you were largely ignoring the Enchantress in favor of hitting pretty much everyone else. Huskar is uniquely good at shutting down enchantress, especially when sitting at mid-low health. Her damage entirely comes from auto-attacks and specifically auto-attacking at long range, so while your team was fighting hers in a group, she was sitting off to the side dealing tons of free damage. By jumping on her, you already cut off most of her damage, then by using q you remove it completely. With a bkb, you keep your attack speed when hitting her, but also with Huskar specifically, by being on low hp you get the massive attack speed buff to let you push through her attack speed debuff. All in all, it's great to see you keep learning Dota. There's tons of people that say one moba is better than another. I'd say in terms of pure balance Dota has historically done better than league of legends, but overall, they are just different. It's great to see someone who plays one give another a serious try. That said, watching you learn Meepo will probably be painful.

For someone who never played Dota it's insanely impressive, because at the end of the day you already know how to play a MOBA but position in Dota it's has a ton of weight and your couch was pretty good, although I would had recommended getting the upgrade shadow blade instead of Manta so you could get encha. if you notice, only auto-attacks on enemy heroes will draw aggro from nearby creeps and tower immediately anything you press an ability before selecting a target is fair game for aggro e.g: you can use drow's Q (frost arrow) on an enemy hero manually without triggering the aggro behavior but if you attack (right click) normally even with drow's Q on auto-cast, it will trigger the aggro behavior you can think of it like the creeps and towers are protective of their heroes, but they're too dumb to understand magic so they'll be angry if you try to bonk the enemy hero with a club, but use magic and they just see it as "cool pyrotechnics" there's more nuances to the aggro mechanic, like aggro cd, range, how to remove aggro, using "alt"(default button) to see tower aggro, managing aggro to tank for teammate, semi-global trick to induce nearby aggro but it's better to learn those when you're more familiar with the game as those are more often utilized to facilitate more advanced "plays"
@KitsuneFaroe
@KitsuneFaroe 2 ай бұрын
Drow's Ultimate basically give her a lot of damage but gets disbaled when enemy heroes are close to her, so her main gameplay is keeping her personal space and being a real menace at distance. Btw you can hold alt on items to see exactly what the atributes give to your hero. Holding alt on spells also can give more info on how they work. Tower aggro is pretty simple. After killing an unit they will attack the closest attacking it, if not, the closest attacking an ally and if not the closest in general. The last thing they will attack are the siege creeps. Aggroing an attack on a hero while you're around half the distance of the tower range(500) will make it instantly aggro on you. And if you aggro an ally while the tower attacks you (ordering an attack on any of your allies or creeps) will reset the tower aggro and find a target using the above priority. The lane creeps follow the same aggro rules as the tower.
@GermanSoldier1988
@GermanSoldier1988 2 ай бұрын
Read ur explanation of tower aggro again, imagine you are new to the game. Besides everything you said is correct, its not even close to being simple.
@KitsuneFaroe
@KitsuneFaroe 2 ай бұрын
@@GermanSoldier1988 you're right. But is indeed mostly simple to understand by using logic. I forgot to mention it in simpler terms: So basically the tower is defensive: it prioritizes defending itself, then defending an ally and last, defending the área. Towers only resets aggro when their target dies or when their target aggroes their own ally.(this is the most weird mechanic, but is what serves to de-aggro the tower when is attacking you.) Towers become "alert" when something attacking a hero is close to them. And at last, the catapults are mostly neglected if there is something else to attack. The lane creeps follow the same aggro rules.

By the way, you can Toggle Q by Alt + Key so you don't have to keep doing it with every single attack. Also when you use Drow Q manually by pressing Q and Attack, you don't pull creep aggro or tower aggro. Pretty useful to harass enemy under creep wave or under tower for those nice tower dives. Keep up the work. I played both mobas and I have faith in you. Careful with staying too much time with the toggle. Main unique thing about dota compared to league is Strength Agility Intelligence (attributes)system. It's not just direct attack speed, HP, AD, AP stats like League. These attributes are translated to other stats. Strength gives you HP, magic resistance. Agility gives you attack speed, attack damage, armor… etc. Also the items here can't scale your ability power like League. There's only magic amplification items.

I'm high divine, low immortal. Sometimes leaving lane early and allowing the enemy to take T1 is a good thing. Towers in Dota, particularly T1, are significantly less powerful than their LoL counterparts; they cannot protect you well on their own; what actually keeps you safe around towers is choke points and highground, which are lacking on T1 safelane; they can basically attack you from any angle. Also, Veno and Dawn are excellent lane bullies who have strong early game; now, when faced with Drow and VS, you have limited options. Dota is similar to Go in that the board is equal and players take turns placing pieces. However, you cannot have everything on the board. Every action you make must give you something rather than offering more to the enemy. Instead of defending useless T1, leave and farm tri bottom camp; at the very least, you'll gain minimal money and XP rather than losing more. Let enemies take that tower. As a result, the wave will push in, and enemies will rotate because T2 is too strong and too deep for them to take, leaving you, the safelane carry, to safely farm all gold and XP near your T2.
@leftistnpc5417

So important. This is a massive thing to realize. Took me many deaths and subsequent conniptions to figure out you really don't need t1. Much better to farm it near t2, disincentivize the enemy from trying to gank

Support player here, just want to give some tips On laning phase, commonly you gonna get zoned by enemy support my tips is, try to trade hit as far as your attack range goes, and as close as safety safety can be close to tower, or close to your laning friend. denied your creep surely a good play, but if you not confident just try to stop enemy carry to get the creep instead a hero that have stun like Crystal Maiden or Lion have a spell to stop enemy, use it when your creep is almost die, and stun enemy hero While other hero like jakiro, can slow enemy so its harder for them to get the Last hit. 90% of the game. In early round, as a support. as Pos 5, you want your carry to be safe as possible as pos 4, try to harrash enemy carry and support. ask your coach, which hero is better to be pos 4 and 5 when you using support. And good luck with meepo on your future video

Really enjoying this series. Love the editing style, clearly this took a lot of work to put together aside from just the gameplay recording time which obviously can take a lot of time given its dota that you are recording. I really hope this continues and it is great to see how someone that is new to the game approaches things while still obviously having some mechanic knowledge due to experience with League. I am sure you've got it a lot from other commenters, but I really feel like the camera settings you use/the habit of centring the camera on your hero are somewhat holding you back when it comes to positioning and awareness. You are literally limiting how far away you can see. Obviously with a melee hero it is less impactful (though further knowledge of your surroundings is important). However, it is way more noticeable when you play a ranged hero though There were many moments in the Drow game where you were protecting high ground and 75% of your screen is your own safe base where nothing is going on while 25% of your screen is where the enemies are and where your attention is at because they are in the top right hand corner of your screen. In my head I like to split the screen into 4 sections. If you have your hero in the bottom left quarter of the screen in these instances where you were defending high-ground from the base, now all of a sudden the other 75% of the screen is on the enemies and that bottom left 25% is on your hero which is also pretty important for you to see so you know you aren't being attacked. In doing this it goes from you having only 25% of the screen being useful with the camera centred on your hero to 100% of the screen being useful with the camera no longer centred. I hope this helps, I am sure your coach probably has picked up on this if he's seen your footage anyway.

another reason for the invulnerable fountain mechanic is because back in 2019 there was a time where people can just tank the fountain and killing you in the fountain so that the fountain feels like not a safe place

The movement for positioning yourself in teamfight is very crucial for hero like drow. And you did it very well that game.

very interesting video mate, your huskar game was really good! axe calls was interrupted by your Q at least twice, probably just luck but that was hilarious :) also you once survived by not activating armlet and then activated it right in time when axe tried to kill you with his ult, this little things made me laugh so hard, keep it up, can't wait to see you playing invoker lmao but please do not play this hero early. also you should fix the music volume in the game or make your voice louder because sometime its hard to understand. sorry if bad englando its not my native language

I feel like Drow is one of the harder carries to play for a new player because the positioning with her is so important and she’s very squishy. Also getting last hits in the lane is tricky with her long attack animation.

The reason you can't move much when you kite is because DotA has the original Warcraft 3 mechanic of 'turning speed'. In League your champions just turns instantly, while in DotA they 'rotate' and each have a set speed which they rotate. So having to constantly turn around is bad for DPS.

First of all, welcome to DotA2! I hope you are enjoying your stay - despite some peoples' toxicity. That Drow game was really close! You caught the hang of the hero towards the end. If only your support had more faith in you earlier into the match. And since now that you have mastered Armlet toggling, your Strength heroes will become so much more powerful!

Your pos 5 give up and abadoned u, well, He actually not really doing anything in drow game, If bad scenario like this happened, u can ask help in chat, if nobody come to help. Just get out from lane, buy item that can help you jungling in neutral camp, buy Mask of Madness, then go leveling and buy one Items that you think gonna usefull for next war. Kill their support first in ganking.

I love this series, hope you are having fun with learning dota. As a player with 4.8k+ hours - fuck armlet and you did a great job toggling it. About differences in kiting in D2 and LoL: D2 has a mechanic that does not exist in LoL called turn rate speed, which makes typical LoL kiting almost impossible on most heroes due to turn rate constantly affected by slow effects However, in D2 we have items like Blink dagger, Force staff, Glimmer cape and lots of heroes with movement abilities that make kiting possible. So it heavily depends on your and enemies hero lineup Sometimes it is necessary to build these kiting items when playing against certain heroes, that heavily depend on their abilities and items cooldowns (like Sven, Void, Troll warlord or Ursa) Sometimes it is necessary to deny enemies heroes (like Anti-mage, Weaver, Slark, Queen of Pain or Phantom Lancer) their ability to kite, with items like Orchid Malevolence, Rod of Atos or Scythe of Wise. Otherwise it will get miserable trying to fight them So I would say that D2 kiting is very nuance and it almost always depend on picks

Huskar is my very first hero in dota. So I really like it that you enjoyed playing him, I don't enjoy playing him in this patch though, he's very easy to deal with now than back then(leave him 1hp and he'll kill anyone 1v1)

sort of trick from ex rank divine user (2017), when u using item armlet u need focusing that item on your dominant finger button for comfort. so u can use it properly toggled it. and when its comes about your laning phase, if ur position 5 leave ur lane, just go straight to jungle for farming. at lvl 4/5 u can start jungle there, while junggling u can back to lane for farming 1 wave of creep too. oh yea about item power threads u can changes the stats based your hero. incase of drow ranger change it to agility (green) power threads.

My suggestion is, learn support first in this game. Support control many aspect throughout the game, the vision to defend, to invade. To initiate the fights, to control the game pace/tempo, to communicate with your team, and to adapt your team pace and decision. you will learn the game throughout along with playing as support. Micro-wise, yeah all the same.

I made that mistake and I now have a support mindset. I am incapable of playing carry because I know how important the support role is and maybe 10% of my games I have a competent support so I end up picking up the slack :/

the hardest part iv found for new players is items and cost of them. there are some chars its worth skipping early stats to go for blink daggers or big items like battlefury and radiance. and some characters like having a lot of stats early for cheap and thrive on getting cheap and cost effective items. there are breakdowns of the stats you get from items by holding alt while mousing over items. helps a lot with compairing stats to gold cost. usually high gold cost items are not efficient for stats while providing unique abilities.
