Mining for sure. I can afk fish and wc at work. mining is the pita imo. Also idk how you expect to automate smithing. In the past relics just made it so full inventories were done at once.

You can also do Temporros if you take the desert, and woodcutting is afk af and if you take korrend you can afk at WC guild

If you plan to take Varlamore then the only option is fishing/woodcutting. Reason Being All mining should be done at calcified rocks You should have a raid that will give you gems for crafting Woodcutting bad doodoo dogwash relic You get the new "bis" hunter foods and unl normal fish foods. Would go great with a banker note down the line if its in this one. hunter trap boost for faster rumors

It does feel a little bad, pretty much every other league gave you nearly the functionality of all three of these as one of the tier 1 choices, it's like they split the one relic into 3 and gave each third a lil something extra. L imo

The likely reason for this is Combat will be focused on the Combat Masteries, which is separate from the Relic system. As such, I suspect there will be more skilling/QoL features spread throughout the tiers so you can create certain broken combos.

mining is good but with the fishing you and HARD afk at karambwans forever basically, plus for the mining you would still need to physically mine the high level ores to benefit a lot from getting lots of them and that just always sucks to do. im going fishing

Even if you don't unlock kourend you can just do forestry for woodcutting the events give multiplied xp bonuses I'm not a fan of the woodcutting relic. Strongly leaning towards mining at the moment.

Woodcutting is the clear pick for me. 3 easy skills to max. Fletching is an easy skill to max once you have the arrow shafts, but getting the shafts takes a decent amount of time, with the woodcutting relic it’s 0 time. Same with fire making. Completely ignoring a skill on the way to 99 woodcutting is very nice. Thinking about point bearing tasks, 3 skills will give much more points meaning area unlocks earlier. Hunting is done by many people with fossil island, fishing and cooking are not bad, one being afk the other from wines which is very easy to collect with rfd chest. Mining was done last leagues with stars, but with varlamore, bone shard mining is gonna be juicy. The only skill I will feel iffy on is smithing, but I can’t justify the mining relic cause of just one skill

@ maximize time having fun. Mining is going to be slow regardless. You’re gonna mine iron rocks to 99 just for some smithing exp, I’m just gonna mine calcified rocks or like last league stars. I’m thinking in regards of maxing and hitting dragon rank like I did last league. Smithing is the only skill that’s going to be annoying for me but I’m not picking a relic for one skill

As I'm taking Varlamore, a lot of my mining xp will be coming from the calcified wall for bone shards, so I'm taking the pickaxe to both speed up my early prayer process, as well as make up the smithing xp by being able to bypass the need of coal or slowly smelting at a furnace. Food is easy with unlimited karambwans from the food shop in karamja, and though the harpoon would be AMAZING for the hunting guild, traps don't really fail often enough to slow down what I'm sure will already be ridiculous xp rates. As for the axe, it really could've been better. Not really sure what they could've done to make it better, but it feels so lackluster. Tbh, my biggest take from this reveal is that the skilling and utility relics will be simple, which hopefully means slayer task selection will be a thing just as its own relic. Not even free skips or anything just straight up "You can choose your slayer task".

I don't think chins/range training is that prestigious in leagues, you can max the skill in a day without chins, catching chins will be a generic leagues task regardless, but range training is already quick without chins

mining will still be slow, last year i found smithing gloves to make mining worse. that said, the 50% success when you fail could potentially be really great for higher level mining. smithing is way faster with giants foundry, and if the stores works the same way as last league, then i would 100% recomend going that way. fishing sharks will be super fast now, if i understand the success when you fail thing correctly. you will never fail cooking... but why the fuck not just make it so you cook 100% of your shit? axe sucks harder than RS3... that said, RS3 segment is taking up too much time AGAIN!..

The thing that confuses me is no one talking about the fishing relic sleeper feature. All implying jars don't break upon opening meaning i can grab a lucky impling then farm that guy endless for clue scroll drops or use other impling the same infinitly

That would be insanely OP lmao, it just means when you loot the impling from the jar, it removes the 10% chance of the jar breaking, not that the impling stays in the jar and you can loot it again
