3:16 I went to the Price Is Right show in 1990 when Bob Barker hosted. There were always stairs going up on both sides contestants row, however, before the show began producers told everyone in the audience the rules, and if you walked up the stairs to the left, the exact stairs you walked up, you were disqualified from winning your prizes. You still played the game, but would never collect any prize if you won a prize or if you won on the big wheel or final showcase. You could only walk up the stairs on the right side if you made it out of contestants row. I think the rules changed after Drew took over because you went up the stairs on the left.

Welcome to price is right contestant club haha! But that is crazy! They definitely never explained that to us and knowing myself and with all the excitement I would of still went up the wrong steps. Glad they changed that for my sake! :)

If you watch all shows during Bob Barker's time you will see stairs on both sides of contestants row and always see contestants go up the stairs on the left hand side of contestants row because they have been told the rules. When I attended a show I was never called so never made it to contestant's row or on stage, but you did, and you did great! Congratulations on your win!
