Great Video - Couple points: 1) On the turn, would a shove be a more profitable play than a smaller overbet or 2/3 as hero played it? 2) if so, is a 50% check, 25% overbet and 25% shove fairly reasonable? I’d be curious what a solver said 3) regarding what Chris said at 23:35 about not having 33 in a standard range. I understand UTG should not be calling a 3 bet with a low pocket pair but I think you have to consider that this is 10 NL... people continue with almost any pairs and since they opened so small, .60 is considered not too much for 10 NL players... Thoughts?

Gto wizard prefers 75% on turn I’d have thought over bet or at least psb. I see psb pretty often here on these 2 flush draw turns. I’m guessing the issue is it’s a 3b pot vs utg where they should be pretty strong so that’s why 75% makes more sense than risking more with an over bet I’m Gonna look at same board but from late positions

Really interesting hand and great analysis. Hero's line makes a lot of sense if villain is a tight, thinking opponent. Villain's min-raise under the gun makes me question that assumption though. Also, Hero's image may affect the validity of this play too: Three-betting A5s then running a triple barrel bluff with an overbet looks like something I'd expect a LAG to do. If this is a regular play, rather than a change up, I think it'd be hard to get this to work. The more other players classify you as a LAG, the wider I'd expect their calling ranges to be. That makes it hard to run a bluff line requiring an opponent to be able to fold pocket tens through queens. Loved the idea of the overbet on the turn. (With the right hero/villain). That's a really cool idea.

Just my amateur thoughts on this. I don't think i'm shoving the river. His min raise makes me put him on something weakish like a suited 7 or pocket 3s. He could potentially have pocket nines+ here, but i dont think he min raises those preflop. If I shove the river i dont think he would ever fold trip 7s or pocket threes in this spot, and i dont see to many weaker hands like 9,10s or 2,3s sticking around (that would fold to a shove). So i dont see why shoving would be a good idea because i think we have close to 0% fold equity. The hands he would stick around with to the river, that we beat, is either a busted straight of busted flush draw. And we already beat those, unless he has a king. Not saying this is the best move, but I would check back the river and hope for the best.

I'd be thinking a lot of AK, AQ, 22, 44-66, 88. These hands need a small overbet on the turn.

Triple barrel into a flopped set and turned full house. This guy picks his spots to run a bluff as well as me 😂 I remember one time triple barrelling with AK with a flush draw (that never came in) on a J high board. Guy flips over JJ that he’d called my 3 bet with for a flopped top set 😂

1. That's why you don't chase flush draws on a paired board. 2. If he had checked the turn like the other guy had said, villain probably would have led out on turn so hero could have folded. 2A. If villain checked turn and bluffed river, the bluff wouldn't have been as big amd villain would have jammed river and it would have been an easy fold
@splitsuit
@splitsuit 3 жыл бұрын
2. If I'm understanding that "if hero checked the flop and villain bet the turn..." then hero should NOT fold against the turn bet =)

You’re checking the flop in position with the nut flush draw and then folding to a single bet on the turn when you don’t make it? That’s incredibly nitty. You’d be better off folding A5 suited preflop if that’s your line.
@johnmalto3392
@johnmalto3392 3 жыл бұрын
They really couln't have 3's there. Sometimes they run into the nuts. Turn should be a check-back I think, that's why betting half pot is not so appealing. I don't also want to bluff with A5s on the river. Yeah sometimes we make terrible mistakes.

if UTG has 87 suited and 76 suited in his range isn't he over-defending vs 3 bet? seems like those hands would tend to be towards the bottom end of a LJ (utg 6 max) opening range and not top 30%-40%.

Hey guys, I like your videos. I like how split reps explotitive play, and barry white reps GTO. Obviously, you both think the other is valid and it leads to a good discussion. Here's a suggestion: I think it'd be cool if, one time, you guys disagreed, got pissed off and argued against each other.
