i'm a fan of magic and seen a lot of show and videos. to me, the judges (except Simon) and the crowd's reaction didn't match. obviously, his sleight of hand wasn't bad but was pretty basic.

0:35 - when he answers “yeh”, it may have sounded informal for this setting, but in Korean the formal “yes” sounds like “yeh”, and the informal is ”neh”, one of the few languages that has a word that means “yes”, but starts with an “N”. A lot of Koreans that learn English are not taught that “yeh” is our informal yes. Military service is a mandatory 2 years for all males. They have a special name for that called “Katoosa”. The drill sargeants are pretty rough. I saw one addressing a line of 20 Katoosas, had one of them take 2 steps forward, Asked him a question, then punched him real hard in the gut, and then had him step back in line. I was US military and stationed in S Korea for 2 years with family.
