hey steve i do apartment maintenance here in mass....just north of worcester. lots of toilet repairs. you couldnt be more right about those stupid wax rings with the plastic horn causing problems. learned alot from your videos. keep up the good work.

Nice tap, that sucker had like 6 teeth, that 2" Tap must be expensive, but an excellent idea to chase them. I found mine was like that also. I used a cut off fitting brush in a drill to clean them up first. Made all the difference in the install. Great video. Thats a lot of work, and you can feel it when your in your upper years. Liked that compression fitting...

the swing arm with the float can be moved left or right I found out the hard way installed several times and gauge did not work flipped the swing are in other direction and presto it worked mamma.

Where I'm from they call them dresser couplings if it's the same thing. I never used one on oil cause I'm in colorado its all natural gas but I have used them many times on boiler piping.

nice job as always steve. in the water part of plumbing those are called ford dresser couplings i think. not sure what theyre called in the oil supply, i assume compression couplings. good choice tather then to unwind all that pipe. and ya know, mama is proud you have every size tap in the ice cream truck !! keep the videos coming.

I really liked that repair! I never saw those couplings either. What product do you use to seal the threads? Anything special for the oil tank? Will Rectorseal work? Which one? Also what spray do you have to clean up the tank? Will it also work on the concrete floor?

I have never seen Couplings like that before Steve, are they reliable and affordable? Too bad the original installer didn't put a few pipe unions in, that would have made that job much easier. Thanks for posting.

The only way oil gets to the threaded part of the vent alarm is if the delivery guy overfilled it. Bet there's oil blown out the vent outside. These tanks never get filled up to the tip top unless there's a F up

Cool beans ! Is there away to dissolve and flush that sludge ? You might play a CD of your fav music for your dog to hear. Play it while you drive too..it might calm her down while you are out of sight ! Just an idea,,might take a couple weeks...good luck !🐕🐶

What about sludge buster comes in a quart and treats up to 1,000 gallons. Webbs guy says ppl speak highly of it. U put it in right before having tank filled.

Not trying to be disrespectful in any way, but wouldn't it be better to pull that float out of the oil tank and clean the sludge off once it has cleared the tank? It looked like you scraped the majority of the sludge off on the inside of the tank where it all dropped into the oil tank. Thanks for the vids, the info, and the entertainment. God bless bro. P.S.
