@@stevenlavimoniere I’ve always wondered why oil tanks don’t have a sump drain. Elevate the outlet end of the tank to the filter an inch or two and install a second valve at the other end with a pipe cap for safety. All the water and schmag will settle to the far end where it can be drained off one or twice a year. I was in the middle of dinner when you scooped up that handful of muck. 🤮 Happy Birthday to Miss Molly and Happy 4th to you, Steve!

That's probably what the tank I used to have looked like inside when I had a house in Asheboro North Carolina back in 1992. My furnace would always give trouble every time they brought Me Oil. I started using propane after My Wife and I split up and got rid of the oil tank. I gave it to a guy that tried to use the tank. I told Him that it was full of rust and shit, but He wanted it anyway.

Lots of areas around here have no natural gas service available, and propane is usually more expensive than oil since you're locked into buying it from the company that provides the tank preventing you from shopping around. With the cold climate even the most efficient heat pumps that can keep up with the cold are more expensive to run due to the sky high electric rates. Oil is the best option for many.
@mph58963 жыл бұрын
Natural gas is ideal, cheap, low maintenance. The issue with it is running the pipe to each and every house gets REALLY expensive.
@jblyon23 жыл бұрын
@@mph5896 Especially around here where you're more likely to hit a rock than soil when digging. There are a number of homes where service was run down the street after most were built. Friend bought one and had gas hooked up when the oil boiler needed replacement. Worth looking into if you have oil and need a new system.
