Great video. I ended up buying a seal puller tool from Harbor Freight because my old leaky seal was still really stuck in there. Took 2 minutes to yank it out of there with the $8 tool. It took longer to carefully tap in the new seal. Thanks for the helpful content.

Thank you so very much. I appreciate how you mentioned loc tite back on the bolts. Also the mark to line it up with the drive line. I’m a girl but I grew up in a garage and now I’m taking my jeep to a shop. It’s nice to know what I’m talking about. Thank you Tim! CCalrow

Good video! About to do this on my 05 4.7 cause it’s leaking. Also gonna change out my rear differential cover for an ARB so it’s easier to drain and refill during servicing.

For those doing this in 2022 following his guide took me like 20min not even lol. If you don’t have a clamp or wrench and the bolts keep spinning have someone step on the brake pedal. Also for those worries they won’t put it back on right. It’s 210ft lbs for the torque
@beatsbypip35752 жыл бұрын
is that torque spec for the 2005 jeepgrand cherokee pinion nut?
@iMoses14 Жыл бұрын
@@beatsbypip3575 It's actually 240 ft lbs for the pinion nut.

Curious as to how this played out ….since you took the preload off the pinion bearing and the crush sleeve can only be crushed to spec 1x- putting the nut back to mark is no good…. Diff start whining away or did you sell it?
@Jovemdaluta5 ай бұрын
you don't put the yoke exactly like it was. Either you torque to spec or you torque until you feel the correct preload through the bearing resistance while turning the yoke (if you are experienced)

Great video man! My 08 looks the same as yours did. Aside from that. Any experience with the small evap leak code p0456? (Fuel pump constantly shuts off when i refuel) I already changed the ESIM and the problem still exist. Thanks! Have a good night.

Glad I could help brother.I have not experienced the code myself but I’ve heard it’s common for these Jeeps to have evap issues. Gas pumps also shut off on mine It’s always done this.

Do a smoke test on your tank/nozzle/assembly. There's a leak somewhere in there. Could be a cracked piece of plastic on the top side of fuel tank where the filler nozzle meets, or even a warped filler nozzle flange at gas cap mating surface.
