I was living in Leam Terrace when this flood happened on Good Friday ‘98. Went downstairs & opened stairwell door to see one of my cats ‘surfing’ on the carpet. I had to close the door & open it again as honestly thought I was imagining things! The water was up past the skirting boards throughout the ground floor of the cottage.

Sadly one person lost their life; but otherwise, we got some much better new buildings in the park and the estate agents all got flooded out!
