One of my favorite openers by any HS band in the past 30 years. Leander was the first band to put Son Lux on the field, and many bands and drum corps have played their music since (including Bluecoats in 2024)

To the members of this band, my gosh u guys are awesome. And this is the first time I’ve said this to another band. I played piccolo in a 5a band back in 74. We decided to compete against the PSU BLUE BAND, since we knew we would beat all the bands in our class hands down, so we beat them too! We were extremely as good as u! We however learned 5 halftime shows and a street show. There was no limits back then on practice and I felt like pitching a tent at school some days. Our directors motto was taking 2nd place is like kissing ur grandmother through a screen door! Believe me we knew we best bring a 1st place home, which we did! Congrats to u all and ur directors, I had 3, on ur winning band. No other band will ever compare in ur life time!!!!!!

this was amazing to watch in the alamodome! i hope the plainview band can get into the finals someday and be admired by someone just as much as i admire these guys!

I remember standing in front of one of the amplifiers on field level at BOA Austin listening to y'all's encore performance and actually getting a bit misty eyed. There's probably no better way to experience it :D. That opener is spellbinding! I've seen probably 300+ marching shows over the past 10 years, at the contests themselves or on KZbin. This one's in my top 20 and the opener itself is in my top 5.

Hi there. I will not be there. With the blanket ban UIL has on recording and the fact I cannot bring a camcorder into the Alamodome unless you have written permission, I won't be there. Plus I have a new job and cannot take off work for 3 days to watch. My channel might be done in terms of recording new content.
