Being on the radio means making “records” and artists make squat on those thanks to the likes of Spotify. Artists have to tour to make a good living. Maybe I’m wrong but I think she’s doing this during COVID Isolation to stay busy and to be just plain nice. Thanks Leann.

@@PeterTX Every performance isn't meant to show the full range of one's technical abilities. Knowing when to show restraint is within itself a talent. There are artists without the technical abilities of anyone previously mentioned who can captivate an audience with their phrasing and emotion alone. Jessie J uses 'diva' covers to show off more of her power because she does such a wide range of styles that she uses them to remind people of her abilities. For country (much like blues), telling the story is the most important thing. That is the line (no pun intended) that Rimes has walked. She can belt with the best of them and is extremely fluid with her range (lower and higher register) but has shown a lot of restraint because conviction and feel are the most important for country. Honestly, phrasing and making an audience feel the lyrics is a big talent for any genre.

I always have loved the voice of Leann since I heard her in 1996. Especially in this song you can feel she has much more «soul» to the to es she sing. I also a CD with Celine singing this song, but Leann does it in a way more heartfelt way for me.

The glorious irony is rather than weaken or dampen your voice, you’ve incorporated your experiences, absorbed them all, misery and joy, and your voice has grown fuller, stronger, more mature,velvety and richer. I remember the first time I heard and saw you... my parents and I were sitting in our family room around our “big” tv. I barely breathed as I sat mesmerized. My father was a very conservative, controlled, buttoned up and professional, rather regal man (although he was also very loving and nurturing with me, his baby girl) but as your performance ended he looked at me, winked and stood up applauding as I jumped up all clumsy and clapped and cheered. He vehemently disliked “pop music” “pop stars” etc, but he’d always purchase your albums, then cassettes, eventually cd’s. He’d call me to tell me he was bringing home your new album so I’d finish my homework early and we could sit together in the living room listening to your songs. You and Celine were the last 2 additions to his favorites list. I’ve long since lost him but listening to you sing makes me feel as close to heaven and him as is possible. Your voice carries me elsewhere when I’m broken and exudes and shares joy when I’m happy. I pray those that are unfamiliar with you.... hear you and are able to appreciate your incredible voice. Honestly, you’re a gift from God and right now your voice could soothe and enrich countless lives. I’m still clumsily jumping and applauding you! Really, I never got past my awkward stage.... 😩😁

This is probably THE best cover I've heard of this song. Flawless singing, great feeling, all simple, underrated and extremely clean and soft. It always seemed to me that Leann Rimes is amongst the best female vocalists out there. She never does too much, she's very subtle and her voice is so unique. Of course, it's hard to live up to Celine's "out of this world" talent, but she's doing really good!
