I totally agree! My daughter has had an innotab for over a year and we recently bought her the innotab 2. She now has movies and tons of music. I would recommend the innotab to anyone over the leappad.

I just bought the leapPad 2 for my granddaughter for her birthday and we love it, so much so that I ordered another one for her younger sister for Christmas. The ease of downloading the apps and videos from the app center is amazing. The cost was great for games and videos. It is easy for her to use.

ty, great vid. The 'rotating' camera on the innotab is actually the very reason I decided to go with a leappad. I understand the design behind that and realize that it will definitely wear out and become loose and flimsy after a while.

This video really helped me make my decision. Over all I have to go with vtech. My son lives drawing, listening to music, and watching videos so the expandable memory and being able to add my own content is a huge plus for me. My son is 4 about to turn 5 but colorful objects hold his attention better so the colorful buttons will help him learn to control his device on his own. Overall the review was very helpful. Have you guys ever thought about using actual kids to see which product they prefer

It was great to see a side by side comparison, most of the reviews I've found online have been for one or the other but not a comparison. I'm still leaning towards the LeapPad2 but like the idea of expandable memory with the Innotab and I've read in some reivews that the art apps are better on the innotab which my daughter loves. I got the Innotab 2 "S" for my 3 year old daughter. I think it's better for her because she's beginning to learn to read. I heard how selecting options plays an audio to tell the user what is pressed. That right there kind of did it for me. And there's a pink and purple model for her.

Right. I just purchased the the Innotab for my son. It came with an adapter and $20 gift card for buying games. Not only that, I got free shipping, and Vtech knocked off $20, instead of the $10 off LeapFrog was proposing, for spending more than $100. In all, I paid $94 in all.

I notice there was no mention of the fact that the Innotab comes pre-loaded with more apps out of the box, including an MP3 player which the Leappad makes you purchase separately (important with my little audiophile). Those extra apps may be a small thing but, to many parents, they can make a big difference. Also, you say there isn't much difference made by the Innotab's brightness buttons. Not sure what device you were looking at, but in the video the difference in brightness is significant.

Hello I have a three year old well he'll b 4 in January and I am trying to decide which one to get him for Christmas. You have helped me so much with the video comparison, even though the innotab 2 has the great storage option, I'm leaning toward the leappad 2. Hello, I am still a bit torn on which to get for my son, he is 5. I like the memory expansion aspect of the Innotab 2. The 4GB worry me on being able to hold games and apps. As well as movies. Does the LeapPad allow you to upload movies? Also, the Leap pad 2 has the accessories are much easier to find as I cannot find much on the Innotab 2 such as the adaptors and rechargable batteries.

Hi I was wondering if the art programs ran the same? On the leappad1 the art program was jagged and the innotab 1 was smooth and curvy. I was wondering if the leappad 2's art program had improved or if the addition of the camera in the innotab2 hindered it's art program.

Thanks alot, very helpful. You could have mentioned how to download apps and how much parental control is needed for this process. I know the Innotab2 has a cool feature that allows kids to make a wish list that is email to mum or dad, they can then complete the purchase allowing the kids to download it. I'm not sure if the leappad offer's something similar. Good review though.

Along with the 32gb SD expansion slot you can convert and can copy movies onto the SD card and they can be watched on the innotab, and the picture quality is excellent. As for the leappad being "aesthetically appealing" by who's standards? Because my 4 yo loves colorful things and lots of buttons, makes her feel like she's doing more AND you didn't mention the fact that the innotab is cheaper than the leappad by 20 bucks. If I had to refer a friend to one of these it would be the innotab.

Why would someone watch a comparison video, and then claim bias? The comparisons were made, and conclusions were reached. You can't say it's biased just because the video's creator liked certain things about one more than the other. The creator also established right away that both tablets are "awesome", and concluded that either one should be a wonderful tool/toy for a kid.

I wouldn't think so he is pretty much straight on. I think the purpose of the design of the leappad is for kids to be drawn to it because it looks more like a real tablet not too kiddy and clunky. I've played with both and they are both great in there on respects but I would definately go with leappad because of how many more games and apps they have

For the durability category he basically said both were made out of the same exact plastic, but Leap Pad wins. For every category there was a "winner," but when it came to the camera feature, where the Innotab may have won, he said nothing. Then again with the memory features, Innotab may have won. And no, he did conclude that the Leap Pad would have been a better toy/tool. Overall, he seemed as though he were reviewing this for the use of adults.

It seems to me Leap Pad is trying for the Iphone route by not including expandable memory. You had me convinced I wanted the leap pad until I saw that. It's going to be the innopad for my child. I can't handle when they don't allow for memory expansion when the whole point is to download and play games...all at a cost.

It looks to me the new leap pad 2 is still much slower than the innotab 2 and even the first innotab when it comes to responsiveness when you are using the art studio. There is also many more features on the innotab with the art studio. My child loves all the features but when it comes to drawing, coloring and such it looks like from this video (could have spent a bit more time showing this) how the Leap Pad is nowhere nearly as responsive as is the innotab or innotab 2.

Hmmm, I'm feeling like you forced the leappad to the forefront. The things that you were judging were frivolous and I'm some cases inaccurate. The screen om the leappad is not at all sturdy, I know a few kids that have already broken there's and the makers of the leappad are so aware of this that they send you a free replacement if you contact them about the screen and send them the broken one. Also you conveniently left out the best feature of the innotab, which would be the movie capabilities.

If you want a real vs try watching the review video by TheToySpy he pushes the buttons and lets them load up without cutting the vid off this reviewer seems like he was the one to be playing with the toy. when i showed my 4 year old this video and she has played with a galaxy note 2, a galaxy tab 2 7 inch and ipod touch. She instantly picked the Vtech because it looks more like a childs toy the only thing that I the adult would push for is expandable memory and thus VTech wins

Worthless review. I don't know who this person is but it is not helpful at the least. What is important is the video content and how much fun it would be for the child, not from an adult point of view. Also you should start with the menu and the features, not your choice of style or other secondary considerations. After all, if it is for the kid, then show how the kid will love it. I still have no idea of the fun factor between the two. And you should keep your ego commentary under 3 min.
