I went to Belarus last September and am staying here for one year. Here I'm volunteering at a workshop for disabled teenagers. I have been here more than half of the time already and I can honestly say these months have been the best months of my life. I have met so many new and amazing people and have learned so much about myself that I don't want to go back in August and I don't even want to think about it.

When I was 16, I moved from Singapore to Melbourne, Australia on my own to study my last year of high school. It was terrifying and yet the best thing I'd ever done. I met so many new people, learnt so much about myself and the world as well as grew as both a writer and a person. It was the best year of my life.

About 6 years ago, (age 15) I went to rural West Africa to do community service for two weeks. I pumped and bleached my own water, worked hard labor, and saw emaciated children daily. I couldn't have any contact with my parents during the trip but I wouldn't change anything for the world as I am now more independent, grateful and concrete in my life beliefs. Travelling and not just "vacationing" is essential for growth and development! I encourage everyone to go and experience the world!

My big leap was moving from the East Coast of the U.S. all the way to Los Angeles for an internship at a nonprofit organization. I didn't have any family or friends out here and had no idea if i could survive in LA. It turned out to be an amazing experience and I'm so happy to be here. I can't imagine doing anything better with this year that helping the people of this city!

I think my biggest leap was starting high school this year. I had a really hard time in middle school, I didn't belong and was bullied a lot. I went to a new high school and it was a huge change for me because I met so many awesome people. Now I have a bunch of friends who accept me for who I am, and my life has changed because of it. I'm really happy now. Thank you for inspiring me Carrie!!!

Two days after graduating high school, I picked up all of my things and moved 3000 miles away from my hometown to a place where I had never lived before & where I knew no one, just on the hunch that I'd be better off here. It turned out to be the best decision I've ever made! I love my new home and new friends :)

I decided to go to school 2000 miles from home where I knew absolutely no one instead of in state where I could go home for the weekend and had people I knew to fall back on. I thought that this would help me become better at communicating and not being so awkward. I have improved socially, and I am convinced that I made the right decision, because I am happy here and have found a very inclusive community :)

Last year I sang solo in front of about 50 people at an open-mic night at my college. I'd only ever sung in front of a couple of friends before, and even then they weren't completely listening. Afterwards several people came up to me and said how much they liked it. Huge confidence booster :)

Thank you. Just thank you. I love watching your channel because I am so frequently inspired by it. I am about to leave for the adventure of my life serving a mission in Brazil. I'll be serving there for 18 months. I believe when we have those moments where our lives are changed forever it's because the fire of our passion is ignited and we feel that kind of fire deep within us and it stirs the soul. I am excited to experience such feeling while I am taking my leap into Brazil. I can't wait.

It was a rollercoaster, handling theft, illness, major family illness and depression all while 1500 miles away from the people I love most in the world, but I would never choose anything different. Last Thursday I auditioned for a music school. The day before I had a massive crisis in confidence and ended up crying and saying that I didn't want to do it anymore because it felt like too much of what's important to me to be put at risk.. My Dad convinced me too anyway, and the day after I heard that I got in. WORTH IT.

My leap was going on a week-long mission trip to serve organizations helping the homeless in Denver, CO with a group of 33 people I had hardly met before-hand. It was a twelve-hour drive in 6 vehicles, which made me nervous initially, since that's a long way to go. It turned out so amazing, though! I met more than the other 33 amazing people and was able to make a tangible difference in the places that we went to help. It's amazing to see what so many hands are able to do by working together.

The year after I graduated high school (almost 3 years now). I left the Bay Area I knew and loved and went up to Canada. I went to a one year program with absolutely no one I knew. Totally new set of people and surroundings, + the program was all about character building, group community, and work ethic; so I had to be open immediately. It was easily the hardest but also the best year of my life, and I made a whole new family. That was probably my biggest leap.

There's this program in my state where high school students (usually 11th grade (so 17)) get to go and spend 7 weeks in either Mexico, Spain, France, or Germany and then live with a host family and speak no English. You only get an hour of internet a week and you sign an honor code that you won't speak english,.So I did this last summer. I went to Spain and it was honestly the most amazing thing I've ever done. Last year, I made the big decision of going to a small college in a town where I knew no one. I was so nervous, but I packed up anyways. A few days before the fall term began, I broke my foot! I ended up having to go home and drop out to get surgery. I'm back at college now, and while I'm VERY behind everyone else in my year, I am a more responsible person. While I was at home, i learned better time management, how to cook and drive, and even how to take better care of my health.

If it hadn't been for my boyfriend & my mother & the encouraging words of my friends, I never would have made it. I'm so glad that I did though, it was absolutely amazing.

n a music room just having a bit of fun, to four amazing musicians who'll be having their first gig together next week. And I have to say thank you, Carrie. You gave me the confidence to take the leaps I have with my music. You're a true inspiration. Love, Kate!

Carrie, thank you so much for this video. It genuinely inspired me to regain hope. I'm currently in the unknown and it's dark and scary because I have no idea where it's currently leading me. It's as though the light at the end of it has been lost, but your beautiful writing today has inspired me to keep seeking that light no matter where it leads me. I am excited and ready to make some changes.

Last year, i entered an impromptu speaking competition. I'm terrified of public speaking but I'm always so inspired by people who do those things so I wanted to try and do something I admire rather than just watch it. I got into the finals and spoke on a stage in front of hundreds of people. I didn't win, but just getting into the top 5 made my year, and I'm so proud of myself for having made that choice.

My big leap won't happen for a few more months, but I was admitted into a program through my university that gives me the opportunity to live in New York City for the summer and intern. So I'll be living completely on my own, thousands of miles from friends, family and my boyfriend in the big city. I'm super nervous, but I'm so very excited at the same time because I know that this is going to change my life.

High School was a massive leap for me. I had spent the first nine years of my life being home schooled, which ment that I had never gone to public school or even really hung out with people my own age. In grade 10 I made the terrifying decision to go to public school. And it turned out really well, I have made tons of friends and discovered a love of the theater and acting that I didn't even know I had! :)

I sang in front of an audience of 300 people and just last week I shared a song I wrote with someone for the first time. It was amazing.

Recently, I auditioned for a part of the chorus in a youth theatre production of les mis, and I got the part. That was the beginning of my leap. It may not sound like much, but I am possibly one of the most shy people ever to live, so to even audition was a huge thing for me. I did it with a friend, but she didn't get the role she was going for, so she won't do it now, and believe me, I am terrified to go it alone. I am so glad I found this video, as it has convinced me to continue with the pro

I left the security of a two and a half year relationship to be with someone else who I had fallen for. We have been together for over three and a half years now and it has been difficult but we have helped each other through family illness (cancer) and bereavement. We now live 70 miles apart and see each other for a weekend every month. Its tough but I wouldn't change it, I love my boyfriend and all it took was a leap into the unknown to find true happiness. Follow your hearts.

Btw in Nottingham this year ncs will take place over four weeks. The first is the "expedition" week, spent camping and getting to know your teammates. The second is at a local college where you get to be really good friends and have a go at loads of fun games and activities. The third is a week spent planning your community action project, while taking on more 'household' jobs to develop skills and independence. The final week is where you do your community action project.

My leap of faith was telling everyone about my girlfriend. I'm so proud that I can finally tell people about her and feel comfortable and not scared that I'd get beaten up for it (like I used to at previous schools) She is one of the biggest impacts on my life and I'm so happy I can call her mine, even though she's in a different continent that me.. I had to move away from her a year ago because my parents dragged me to Australia. But I now realise that, with her, I have nothing to be scared of

I've never really been one to jump into the unknown, it scares me. But recently i've been trying to find out my passion, so i've been trying hundreds of new things and have discovered i'm a rather nifty chef, i have applied to loads of jobs and have gotten one in a local restaurant. I am loving it, it's one of the best things i've ever done and i'd like to thank you Carrie, you are one of my idols and inspirations and i'd have probably done none of this if it wasn't for you. :)

I applied to do a year abroad in Canada. Now I'm coming to the end of my year and it's terrifying how quickly time has gone. I'm so glad I lept, I was absolutely bricking it the day I packed up my life and headed to Heathrow to get on the plane but this year has been the best year of my life without a doubt, I've made amazing friends, had some great experiences, and I've got the chance to travel to some beautiful places! Feel the fear and do it anyway!

Hello Carrie. I'm an eighteen year old girl from the Netherlands and I'm in England as an Au Pair for 6 months. This was the biggest change in my life untill now. I'm really enjoying it! I thought it would be quite scary being so far away from everyone and everything I know, but I'm loving my time here. I'm also very excited to start my study in September when I'm back in the Netherlands again. P.s. You are an inspiration, thank you for your video's! :)
