i came looking for the games i played as a kid. it's so wild. i remember all this shit. early 2000s kids' toys were great. i always wanted to print out my dog's adoption certificate but my mom wouldnt let me. and i dont think i ever actually unlocked all the tricks.

I remember this game so well. Back when I had it, I was just 3 years old. But I loved this game so much. I only had a mere 4 games on my Leapster 2 (my brother did as well. But we played each other's games so it didn't really matter), but this is the game I remember the most. I think I remember the walking minigame the most out of anything in the whole game even though I had no idea what a capital or lowercase letter was at the time. Good times...

When I was a little kid I LOVED LOVED THIS GAME so much I even pretended to be the dog...yeah...lol. I would copy what the dog did on the leapster at the same time to the best of my ability...I even licked the floor for invisible treat crumbs (boy am I happy I got over that a long time ago!) Like with Super Mario, which I still love and play today, I have fond memories of this game. My poodle, my husky, my brown dog...walking them, cleaning up after them, the music store was a favorite place of mine to be during walks, competitions, dressing them up, hating doing the letters since it was so boring to me, giving them baths and wondering how they got so dirty in the first place, and more!! I remember having my Mom printing out the certificates for me! I even remember the narrator saying that dogs cant eat human food when investigating the refrigerator XD! I remember being with my dog friend during a walk for long periods of time because when I left the area and came back on that same walk the dog would sadly be gone. I remember hating when I ran out of treats while training my dog! I remember the fetch competitions which I thought were fun! I remember adjusting the screen brightness to be super low to pretend that it was night in Pet Pals. I remember having to keep the game in my Leapster all the time or else for some odd reason it would magically disapear...one day it just vanished and never came back. I am 14 years old now and I have a whole collection of Nintendog and Nintendogs+cats games for the 3Ds, yet I am about to get Pet Pals again because I miss it so much! I also need a new Leapster since I lost my old one. I cant wait to get a favorite piece of my childhood back!! :D And when I do I will showcase it in my channel too!

I used to play this all the time. It kinda brings back memories. Me and my friend both [q~.]have puppies on the game. I'm not that good at these types of things either, I find them kind of hard. Why does it say "while pressing the Pen button?" Mine never [q~.]have that, but that might be because it was a regular one that was really small. The drying sound is kinda weird to me. I have this game forever ago, I also remember having Disney Fairies, Disney Princesses, Dora, and one game with a bunch of animated stickers that I don't remember the name of. My mom was cleaning my room one day and I asked her where all the leapfrog stuff went, and she said that she threw it out when I outgrew it... I hardly remember anything about this game other than that intro theme and the "clean as a whistle!" thing during a random cleaning minigame where you had to wash the dog.
