Keyby has been amazing for me. I never touch-typed in my life, then, after breaking my wrist in 3 places, and extensive surgery, there was no way I could look-type anymore, or use a traditional keyboard for any length of time, (needed a bio-mechanic/ergonomic keyboard). And so, I purchased a Kinesis Advantage 360 split keyboard, and holy ****. What a learning curve, not just learning to touch-type, but adjusting to the split keyboard too. After 3 months of 30 min a day on keybr, approximately 5 days a week, I am now proficient, albeit slow, 22wpm first thing in the morning, then 32wpm after I warm up. Despite that, it is so much fun. Wish I made myself learn to touch-type years ago, and wish I bought this keyboard years ago too. Thanks for the video. You got some helpful info.

I've used the site for a month and a half, coming from a decent typing speed. I am finally matching my previous speed of ~55wpm and getting better every day. At some point though, my old system was not working anymore as I was advancing in the course and that was messing with my old habits. So I was typing a lot slower than usual (in both incorrect and correct ways). This course definitely works, but it is a bit annoying at times with all those made up words, because some of them are almost a real word with a missing letter, which makes my brain read the real word and the hands follow. I'm a coder, so I now need to re-learn how to code efficiently using all my 10 fingers. Still struggling a bit with letter "P" when it is followed by an adjacent letter like "O". eg. in "people". Thanks for the video!

For the pain try to keep wrists in a neutral position while typing. Don't flex or extend the wrist . This is the most relaxed position for wrist. Otherwise you will end up with carpel tunnel syndrome.

Also, keybr is really cool cause you can customize your lessons. I always bump it up to have a each word start with a capital letter, and use punctuation between each word as well. Bought blank key caps too. Forces you to keep your eyes on the screen and off the keyboard.

What slows me down personally is that I have to constantly switch between English and German. Not just the words, but also the keyboard layout. Most mistakes I make is the Z and Y which is on the opposite of each other. That makes me often "think" where I have to press or just simply makes me mistype and correct it. I also cannot utilize all ten of my fingers. I use only like 8 of them. I stuck at around 60-70 wpm due to this. I remember years ago before I went abroad and was just writing German on a German keyboard layout, I was at around 80-90 wpm. Without even exercising.

@@wagfinpis just keep training. You can probably get much more. I am a strange dude who started leading WoW raids via chat typing with left hand and playing with right hand on the mouse. Through that I somehow got to 60-70 wpm left hand only. Since I type daily for several hours I want to get into touch typing, but my old muscle memory constantly makes me switch to one hand typing. I already got from 30wpm to ~45wpm with touch typing I hope that I soon get to the same speed of my one hand typing technique. Takes time to beat old habits though. You can do it too!
