Indeed, 'ojala' does derive from Arabic, more precisely from 'insh' Allah' (God willing). Muslims actually use this all the time when they are talking about FUTURE time in Arabic (or even whilst expressing themselves in other languages) but usually not when they are talking about a hope or wish.
