This is an excellent video which helps me with the big jolt that is learning the cursive... it is much easier to write down vocabulary in cursive presumably... unfortunately Duolingo Hebrew has been my only hope up to now but it doesn't cover the cursive

@@HebrewbyInbalI do have a book with cursive instructions on it but Duolingo Hebrew just doesn't get you into it... It is quite a bit harder to use Duolingo Hebrew than their other offerings because they introduce vocabulary without warning and then tell you that you have run out of hearts due to too many mistakes and please come back in 9 hours... This is not how it is with Duolingo Arabic or Irish or Hungarian... Nevertheless I do think that Duolingo refugees could really help you to build your own channel subscriptions... Duolingo is not a competition for you but a great introduction to an otherwise inaccessible language... After all, Hebrew is not much easier than Arabic unless you are able to afford a proper adult class

I need to learn how to roll my r’s. But the Hebrew r is hard b/c I feel like I say it with a English accent. I actually had a speech impairment when I was young throughout my school years and the English r I had figured out how to say it when I was a teenager. My speech impairment came from being half deaf and tone deaf. I struggled with r’s, w, L’s and stuttered from 6th grade to 20’s. I overcame all my short comings but I still struggle with saying rural or world. Saying the r in the middle of the word
@HebrewbyInbal2 жыл бұрын
I understand. Though maybe not exactly the same, I will never have a perfect English accent (far from it). I do believe that as long as you get the general sound and are understood, it is fine, and the focus should be in the language. We are all unique and accents only make us more unique and life more interesting. I hope that helps :) please check out my video on the letters that do not exist in English where I show you how to pronounce each letter in the alphabet. Toda!

Thank you for the video. A few improvements: 1) when the instructor is writing, her hand covers the letters 2) she writes the letters too close to each other for a novice to understand and remember 3) the pen's point is too fine. She should get another pen with a thicker point. Thank you.

Whats the difference of these two? Do both mean abyss or differ תְהוֹם תְּהוֹם
@HebrewbyInbal2 жыл бұрын
They both mean abyss. The difference between the two is that the second has a Dagesh (dot) in the first letter Tav, and the first does not. The second would be the utter formal way to write the word if it appeared in a book or the bible, for example. That dot does not change the way the letter sounds, it is used for learning how to writing or as mentioned when using all the formal signs attached to the letters in Hebrew. Hope that helps :)
