So happy I found this video because I decided to pick up Hebrew again (my grandfather used to say it's an impossible language). I learned the alef bet and how to read Hebrew when I was much younger from Golinkin's Shalom Aleichem book. I've since forgotten a lot of what I learned. I definitely don't remember seeing the wild ways Hebrew script is written. Like, what's going on with the script for fay and tzadi sofit? So similar and so equally difficult.

My Hebrew 1 2 3 complete all your reading and writing skills if you meed any help with getting back on the Hebrew horse :) Hebrew 1 teaches you how to write in Print letters (including end of word letters, Dugesh etc.) Hebrew 2 teaches you how to write in Cursive Script. You need to know how to identify words written in cursive to be able to tackle anything you come across. Hebrew 3 teaches you the nikud vowel system. I am an English speaking American. In middle school they made us take three language classes. First I took German then I took French and then spanish. I ended up liking German so much I took it for 3 years in high school. Today I have lost 95% of what I learned back then. I will be 44 in about a week and a half they say your first second language is the easiest but I can tell you from experience I did not make very good grades in German class. I retained absolutely nothing from French and the only Spanish I know now is what I have learned working in diverse culture groups as an adult. I am just 2 weeks into my journey of learning Hebrew the first attempt that I made was trying to learn how to speak Hebrew through one of the language apps. I learned very quickly and I literally mean within a couple minutes of being on that app that I was going to have to know how to read Hebrew if I wanted to learn how to speak it. So I found a video here on KZbin listing out in teaching the alef bet. I made flashcards and have been using them multiple times a day. I am already beginning to feel pretty confident with recognition and sound. I am actually very surprised and amazed at how easy of a language it is to learn compared to english. I can remember struggling in first grade with phonics because none of it made any sense to me. I literally had to be taken out of the Class by a teacher aide and tutored. What I realize now is phonics is more of a memory issue than an actual language issue. None of the rules make any sense. I really have a lot of empathy for people who English is their second language. At any rate I just wanted to spill a little of my story and say thank you for your tips and tricks I think I am hooked on your channel now LOL everything you have said has been extra information that I am not getting from the channel where I learned the letters. I'm hoping your workbooks aren't too much cuz I am just a poor girl from the country. If anyone has any suggestions or feedback on free learning material I would be most gracious. Also I have been praying that God will give me this knowledge. Learning the language I mean not wear material may be obtained LOL. Psalm 2:6 says that the lord giveth wisdom out of his mouth come knowledge and understanding
