I began playing the banjo at the age of 11. Thirteen years have since passed, and I still deem this instrument the best thing in the world. My love for it surpasses all else. Thank you for all your wonderful videos! Greetings from France, where the banjo is a rare thing.

Howdy Mr. Jim. I've been watching your videos for 2 months now (that was when I bought my first banjo). Love the content, finally subscribed. Thank you. This one is a bit advanced for me (2 months) but I'll definately come back to it.

Do the single string bit, easy to memorize and then you can add almost anything you want, using 2 finger picking, or frailing/clawhammer, or even super advanced highfalutin 3 finger picking 😎

Suggesting that 3 finger is super advanced as opposed to other styles isn't correct. Clawhammer, 2 Finger, and other styles can be as complex as anything else.

Fun little ditty Jim! I improvised in my convoluted two finger mayhem style and did the whole riff around the 8th fret G shape and finished it on the 4th string ending on the 5th fret. Just another lick for my bag of tricks!

I just found your channel tonight. I put the banjo down over a decade ago when I cut the tip of my left middle finger off preventing me from making full chords. I put new strings today as well as new battery in my tuner and new picks. I'm literally starting from the bottom all over again. Any lick tricks care to help me with that doesn't involve my left social finger would be much appreciated!

Hi Jim, that banjo trick is pretty clever! Thanks for sharing. A question for you... Where did you purchase those mylar banjo case covers? I've got a 20-year old mylar case cover that got damaged by our cat, and my source for it unfortunately passed away several years ago. 😞 I've searched online with no luck. Can you please let me know where you purchased your case covers? Thanks.

Sorta, but the goal here is to create more of a plink than a muted sound. It’s also just a single string and it’s not something that’s used a lot in bluegrass banjo.
