Between your teaching me online and listening to it on repeat back and forth to work, the pieces came together for me fairly quickly. I’m 50, back in school, and working 14-16 hours a day and a half hour here or there practicing what you’ve taught me is my musical therapy. I bought a tshirt because I’m a proud Pankey SOB! That’s definitely a awesome banjo… I don’t live far from Chattanooga in fact I work in Chattanooga… but yeah I know Blaylocks I remember going in there before he passed away.. he was in a wheelchair his last few years he had his legs amputated from diabetes… I was in there one day I was going to buy a stelling Redfox and he said just take it with you and come pay every week or month it’s up to you… his son Bryan could play almost any instrument … cool story… thanks buddy…

After a longer break, the last days, i played every day.. just do it, how you say it. Then you can do it. Sometimes its better to repeat just a few notes, with the goal to pick it clean. That works to me. Thank you Jim

Love this and thank you. Is the slide on "goin' up to cripple creek" a full step or half step on 3 starting at 2nd fret? I've seen so many videos and they all sound good but when they do the half step it seems like the slight pluck on the open 2 is what they do to get the pitch of the note as its done in the song. I struggle with it and cant help but wonder if sliding from 2nd fret to 4th on 3 would give the same effect and be way easier. Hope that makes sense. I'm just learning over here!
