Learn About Tech Risk Consulting (Big 4 Accounting)

In this Career Simplified series, I plan on introducing jobs/careers based on personal experiences and interviews from my friends/networks. Because there are many things I wish I knew before working in IT consulting as a Tech Risk Consultant at a Big 4 (deloitte, EY, kpmg, pwc).
Often times, job posting on LinkedIn or whatever platform you use only show you the bare bones of what the job actually is. It includes a lot of fluff that confuses you and doesn't provide a lot of insights as to what you're getting yourself into.

Hey, thank u! I did have a case interview. It’s not as daunting as it sounds. For my case, they essentially give me a few pages to read. The case company had a few problems and I had to come up with solutions on how I would tackle them. The interviewer just wants to know how you think/logic. So be sure to explain like 1. The problem e.g. the company is scaling and needs better centralization 2. How you would solve it e.g. you want to implement a software 3. (Arguably most important imo) say how you would implement it. E.g. pilot roll out in a department first to fix issues then expand. Something along the lines of this is how I answered and it went well~~ it’s not super technical. I think they just want to know how you think. LinkedIn has some i believe. All the big four should have it listed on there. It might be under a different name (eg. Advisory) But I went through campus recruiting, so it was through Handshake

4:30 Is it really remote? I have heard people say it's a lot of travel. Would love it if it's remote :)

It’s flexible. You can go into the office if you want and it depends on your team but I went into the office like once a quarter. Only traveled once but none of my peers did. Not after COVID

Only EY calls it " Tech Risk Consulting", the same job at other firms including big 4 call it by different names "Tech Assurance", "Digital Assurance and Transparency" which sound less cool but is the same thing
