Thank you for this video! I had the case interview with EY last week, and the recruiter told me today that I was ranked in the middle, and she added that i did a decent job. What did she mean? And also, is being in the middle considered "Average"? I am going to have the behavior interview tomorrow, do you know what types of question they generally ask and how to prep for it? Thank you!

I’m not sure why she said or what she meant by “ranked in the middle.” Regarding behaviour interviews, it’s pretty much like any other ones you Google. They could ask you about your strengths/weakness, a time when you had a conflict in a team and how you resolved it… etc. When I prepared, I googled some sample questions interviewers often asked in behavioural interviews and I rehearsed some of my answers.

how do u get staffed on a project and do u work fso or central
@statuskuo
@statuskuo Жыл бұрын
Initially u don’t get much choice. You kinda just get staffed. But when you have gaps in schedule or when they’re planning resourcing, you can bring up your desires to your counselor and they can try to communicate that. Ofc, it depends on your performance, team needs etc. I don’t do FSO. Just central, normal tech risk consulting.

Can we see the resume you used to get your foot in the door after college?
@statuskuo
@statuskuo Жыл бұрын
I did campus recruiting so I got the internship that led to a full time offer in sophomore year. So there wasn’t that much on my resume. It mostly had college activities. Don’t discount the things you did. Even if you think it’s silly and has no impact you the job you’re applying for, it shows how you spend your time and your personality. I recommend giving each activity/club you did in college 2 bullet points to show the details of what you did and the impact of it. Then add a professional section to include your internships & work experience (2-4 bullet points to describe what you did) With these bullet pts, use action verbs and quantify the results of the you can. (E.g. volunteered at ____ event that raised $___ and brought in ____ people.) If you have space after, you can add Skills section. Hopefully this helps on a high level. Will probably make a video on resumes in the coming weeks as I’m still getting through busy season.

Thanks do you travel a lot for your job?

I heard precovid people do travel quite a bit for this. But post COVID, not really. I’ve been on one work trip in the last year. But, I travel a lot personally since remote work is possible and there’s also unlimited PTO so I take that as opportunities to travel too :)

@@gordonca4111 for behavioural questions like “talk about a time when you had a conflict and how you approached that?” A good way to answer these is something along the lines of a STAR format answer. It stands for situation, task, action, and result. So you give a brief background about the situation describe what you did and what the result was. Tip: the result doesn’t always have to be perfect, but it should show that you learned something from it. Even better if you can follow up with an example showing that you did learn and then put it to use in a future situation. You can Google STAR format answers and learn more from there. Hope this helps!

@@gordonca4111 regarding a technical question like the case interview, it’s important to remember that you have time you can take a second to think about it compose your thoughts before you say something. And like I said in the video, make sure you format your answer logically. So what I would probably say is 1) what I identified as a problem 2) based on these reasons 3) I recommend doing this 4) expected results 5) mention potential risks then the implementation method that can mitigate those risks Obviously, there’s no one way to answer a an interview question, but this is typically how I approach it
