I adopted an ex Amish standardbred. They sent him to the kill pen at age 20 or so. Super skinny, super sad. He is fattened up a bit and happy now and I love him so much. He has no idea what do with under saddle but we're working on it. The good thing is he's bomb proof. Nothing startles him.

Clever horse....he is trying to check you out, 'who is that'.....I got nervous watching but it is a testament to how intelligent horses are. I just love how the Amish lives, think we need not much else to be honest, they do not need for nothing but they are loving and honoring the land, the animals and they give grace. Beautiful.x

I live in Maine and we have a huge Amish community with many different families all over our county it's amazing the things they do. Just a month ago they have a big store like tractor supply or something but with everything you can imagine in it it burn flat. 2wks later they had it back up in going becuz they all help each other. I think ppl could learn allot from them you might not share the same religion or beliefs but they are a community-based type people and if everybody was like that this world would be so much better.
