What's the difference between the circle of fithes and fourth's? Great vid by the way!!
@OnlineSaxAcademy Жыл бұрын
Essentially it’s the same because a 4th up is the same as a 5th down. The way the circle is traditionally displayed you would practice moving anticlockwise around it (C F Bb Eb…). Moving around it this way creates the root movement of very common chord progressions like ii V Is

Question: If you're looking to play jazz improv, shouldn't you include the 7th for each of the arpeggios -- not just the tonic, 3d and 5th?

How do I know which notes are sharps in a scale? Is there any pattern or I should just memorize it?
@OnlineSaxAcademy9 күн бұрын
Check out the circle of 5ths, there are all sorts of patterns you can use, however for the quickest recall I find it’s best to learn each scale individually.

my squeak is less then before but squeak on A note an on G note what can i do to make it stop
@OnlineSaxAcademy2 жыл бұрын
Hi Jose, it’s hard to diagnose as there may be more than one cause, make sure your reed isn’t too old, on correctly, there are no mechanical problems with the sax, don’t bite too harm on the reed, don’t put too much mouthpiece in your mouth. I hope that helps

At 1:35 - I'm not sure it's helpful to say G# and Fb are the same notes. Sure the scales are the same etc. But if you are reading music, they're different.
@OnlineSaxAcademy2 жыл бұрын
It’s Gb and F#, they are the same fingerings, same pitches, just two ways of ‘spelling’ them.
@DrLogical9872 жыл бұрын
@@OnlineSaxAcademy ops! Yes. But, still different when reading.
@OnlineSaxAcademy2 жыл бұрын
Yes, you’re right. The focus on this video though is on learning these scales so well that you don’t have to read them (hopefully!). Plus I find a lot of students don’t realise that Gb and F# are the same note so thought it was worth mentioning. But you are right, if you were unfortunate enough to have to read something in Gb major, that would certainly look different to F# Major.
