Most likely has 2 usages - as an adjective and as an adverb. They both have the same meaning though. As an adjective it goes in front of a noun, and it requires “the” because of its superlative nature. As an adverb, it needs no article. That’s it. Right?

Other teachers don't teach these useful expressions. So, thank you teacher. What does mean " by a long shot " And " Alike "

Hi pal, I'm not Kevin and I'm not an expert but, I'll try to help you, if you allow me: I think the correct way to ask that question is: What does "by a long shot" mean ?. OR. What does "IT" mean ?. (when the phrase is already known). - "By a long shot" means "not at all" "not in the least", in Spanish (my mother tongue), it means; - Ni de lejos, ni por asomo, ni mucho menos, por mucho. Example: - "This has been the best part of my day "by a long shot"." Translated into Spanish: = Esta ha sido la mejor parte de mi día "POR MUCHO"." - It's got several meanings depending on context. - "Alike" means: the same or similar. In Spanish: Igual, parecido, similar. I hope I helped you a little bit, thanks for reading my comment.

I have a problem pronouncing the 'TH' sounds. I hope you can make a short video explaining how they are pronounced in these examples. "is The" "izza"? "in The" "inna"? "What's the" "South Side" "That's the same thing" "What is That Thing" "Watch This" "This Thing", I want to thank you, I have learned a lot from your channel in the last 3 months.

Hi Kevin! I am really confused. You say: What if I put a noun after most likely? “The most likely person”. Remember, if you have a noun after most likely, we use “the”. I could say “who is the most likely person to win?”. But if I don’t have the noun “person” I cannot use “the”. “Who is THE most likely to win?” Please, help me figure this out!

- He said, use "THE" before "MOST LIKELY", ONLY if it's BEFORE A NOUN. The house is "MOST LIKELY" ABANDONED. we don't use "THE" either because "abandoned" is an adjective. Who is most likely TO WIN the fight ?. "THE" is not used. now when you answer that question, you say: - the man is MORE LIKELY to win the fight. (No "THE" either). OR, you can also ask: Who is MORE LIKELY to win the fight ?. (NO "THE" either). - You can also answer: - the man is MORE LIKELY to win the fight. (NO "THE" either). - You use "MORE" with two people, when you're comparing. - You use "THE MOST" when there are more than two people. I hope I didn't get you mixed up even more. 👍. Thanks for reading my comment.

@@fredylopez2477 based on what he said his last example should have been “who is most likely to win?” but he said “who is THE most likely to win?”.

Yes, I agree. What the guy says is self contradictory

At 2:53 the guy clearly says that When we add a noun at the end we should say "who is the most likely person to win". And then he says "If we don't have a person we cannot say "the" and then he says "Who is THE most likely to win?" at 3:01. The guy makes mistakes himself@@fredylopez2477
