Replying to your recent story :(about discontinuing your work) :- 😭😭 We are sorry on his behalf. We actually are! You are doing mashAllah very gr8 work ❤ don't discontinue this due to these people. And a رہنما(guider) I want you to remember that Hazrat Muhammad (saw) was also a guider, even everyone knows there is no one more trustworthy or truthful than Him. But still he got lots of abuse, bad words and even physical hardships from his people. But he didn't discontinue His work.. Keeping patience with these types of words will surely increase your ranks for Allah😇. Your good deeds gona increase more and more ❤❤ Allah bless you more! Why do you use butter paper for writing calligraphy
@alihammadshah3 жыл бұрын
Salam, I am stuck b/w rock and a hard place. I created my lampblack ink using oil soot, gum arabic (gond babol), my papers are sized using alum and egg method and burnished for smoother writing. My ink doesn't run by itself it is stuck at the nib so I have to add water, you alluded to this problem in the video, but sadly the paper I sized and burnished becomes hydrophobic. I tried different quantities of soot and gum arabica and found that less water is the only solution to this.

@jamesaritchie12 жыл бұрын
You can use any ink you like. Some inks are more traditional, and give the calligraphy a more traditional look, just as using traditional paper does. But you can use any ink there is. It all goes doen on paper, and in the shape that you make it go. There are also several inks you can make at home, ranging from very simply to fairly complicated, but all are fun to make and use. They are also even more traditional for most calligraphy than what you see in this video. You need to consider whether, for example, you want to do Egyptian calligraphy, Japanese calligraphy, Chinese calligraphy, etc. Each has its own traditional inks and paper. Recently, I've been doing what might be considered one of the oldest and most traditional form of calligraphy there is. Egyptian hieroglyphics using a river reed pen and papyrus. I'm a long way from being able to read hieroglyphics, other than a few letters and a few, well, pictographs, but I can write my name, and I managed to write my wife a lo0ve letter on Valentine's Day using homemade traditional Egyptian ink and a river reed pen, which they really copied from the Greeks, on a papyrus scroll. It's a barrel of fun, and I liked that I seriously doubt very many women received such a love letter on Valentine's day. What I'm really getting is just to explore, research, experiment. There's a whole world of writing instruments, papers, inks, and fun out there. Make some iron gall ink and learn to cut a goose feather quill. Light a couple of large candles in a dark room and write something, maybe a letter, a poem, a story, an article, or a journal entry just like people did back when goose feather quills and candlelight were the tools they used to write beautiful documents. It can keep you busy and entertained your entire life, and teach you all manner of things.
