Thank you very much! This really helps. 😊 Could you maybe do a tutorial on the cantilever?

Thank you, Julia, for these artistic moves that even relative beginning skaters can practice! I know you've done the Waltz 8 video, and I would love to see you do more of the basic figures, like the Figure 8s, Serpentines, etc. I find the control that comes with doing figures to be very helpful, but I struggle with which arm in front, when to turn my head, and how to do the initial push.

Thank you for the tutorial. Definitely going to try it in the coming days. As for today…I had a competition and it was nothing short of a disastrous nightmare. The competition venue was away from home, and the ice there had a completely different feel. Plus my blades were worn out dull and my knees were swollen and stiff from way too much practice lately. I know what you’re thinking: Excuses… Anyways, I must’ve looked like a first time skater while just skating towards my starting point. Once the music started playing, I literally failed every single element. Even the waltz jump. I was so embarrassed that I just ran off the ice (no curtsy or bow) as soon as the music stopped. I’d say today was my absolute low. Felt so sorry to my coach, but what else can I do other than get myself back together and learn whatever this day gives.

I'm prone to injury these days, but you've given me skills I'm adding to my imaginary program. ❤❤❤

I’m a runner. Who sprained an ankle. So I found ice skating. Now I prefer ice skating to jogging.

@@DuckSeason12 I'm so happy you found ice skating. I hope if you feel comfortable enough to share your adventures on ice. 💗

@@bluegoth well, I have been picking it up pretty fast. And I have really good balance. Most of all I enjoy it so much that it isn’t a chore to practice. My advice is to wear knee and elbow pads. And either a helmet or beanie to protect from injury. Gloves are nice to have also.

Can I ask you why you skate?
@megalonrulez5 ай бұрын
You use this same skill on inline skates when going over rough terrain, like grass or dirt.

That makes skating much bumpy even with quad skates. I used to almost fall over even if I stooped down. It slowed the movement and spoiled the enjoyment.
