It took 700 years to become modern Bengali. it's called evolution of time. (At first Shadhu Bangla was evolved from Sylhoti, then Cholito Bangla, then modern Bangla.)The old Bangla is Shadu Bangla which is the daughter of Sylhoti.Later on when people practice old (Shadhu Bangla) it gave birth to (Cholito Bangla and modern Bangla.) This is the language chain: Sanskrit→Prakrit→Maghdhi Prakrit→Gawri Prakrit→Maithili→Sylhoti→Shadhu Bangla→Cholito Bangla→Modern Bangla.
@hasanahmed79723 жыл бұрын
Etymology. From Urdu مولوی (maulvi), and its source, Persian مولوی (mowlavi), noun use of Arabic مَوْلَوِيّ (mawlawiyy, “of a lord or master”), ultimately from مَوْلًى (mawlan, “master”). Compare mullah, maulana. We all know why people named ★Moulvibazar★ cuz it was the market place of all Middle Eastern Arab's trading business place. Where they used to trade with Indigenous Sylhoti people. (Moulvi and Bazar both of the word originated from Persian language.) I did a personal research on my own in Sunamganj,Habiganj,Moulvibazar and Sylhot districts of Sylhot division. Only Muslim Sylhoti families claimed their male ancestors were Arab. We know Hindu Sylhotis are not fair/light skin and they look nothing like Arab looking Muslim Sylhoti people. They look like dark skin typical Indian or Bangladeshi looking features. Sylhoti Hindu people didn’t get married with Arabs cuz they can't get marry with some one out of their cast if they were practicing Hindus. So there is no doubt only Muslim Sylhotis are a mix race of 50% Arab Father and 50% Indigenous Sylhoti Mother.

It is the northeastern most dialect of Bangla. Standard Bangla is based on the Nadia dialect(a place in India near Kolkata) and therefore, Sylheti is considerably different from standard Bangla. Bangladesh has a wide variety of dialects. I suggest you also learn Standard Bangla as it would help you communicate with other Bangladeshis. Moreover,it will help serve as a base for picking up other dialects.

Bangla was a dialect unit British rulers gave a recognition to be an independent language.Bangla stole a lot of vocabulary from Sylhoti and Assamese. Bangla grammar was directly copied from Sanskrit grammar.If Bangla was a language like Sylhoti it would have it’s own pronunciation like Sylhoti grammar. Assamese and Sylhoti r sister language.They r related to each other cuz they were born from Sanskrit2 thousand years ago.Bangla is only500 years old. Assamese script has the same writing system as Bangla.They r the first one who used Eastern Nagri to write Assamese language before Bangla. Bangla doesn’t even has it’s own writing system.The Alphabet they use for Bangla it’s call Eastern Nagri.Hindi is call Deva Nagri and Sylhoti writing system is call Sylhoti Nagri. Bengali scholars think Charjapad is the oldest Bangla script and It's only500years old.They also said all Charjapad's writers were Sylhoti n Assamese.The first Bangla grammar was written by Ishwar Chandra only400 years agoThey copied everything directly from Sanskrit grammar but Sylhoti has it’s own. It's proved by Scholars Bangla was a dialect of Sylhoti and Assamese.Until they got recognition from British.Proof is nobody speak the writen Bangla. The 2 thousand years old Sylhoti language and today's Sylhoti language is the same language that we speak everyday. Sylhoti is a tonal language and Assamese is a non tonal language. Bangla is also a non tonal language. Again Bangla was a dialect of mix Assamese and Sylhoti. Sylhoti is not a dialect of Assamese that's why it doesn’t sound like Assamese. Do u want to make an online public debate video for Tiktok and KZbin with me? I'll prove u Bangla is no more than 500 years old broken dialect?

First of all u have to learn the definition of a dialect and a language.Sylhoti script is 2 thousand years old. The oldest Bangla script is only 500 years old.Bangla was established by British people. Sylhoti is a tonal language and Bengali is a non tonal language.A non tonal language can't give birth to a tonal language😳Sylhoti is way older than Bangla. Sylhoti language has nothing to do with Bangla.Sylhot division was a part of Assam Kingdom even before1947 and after1971 it became apart of Bangladesh. No one is trying to change Bengali language from Bangladesh! Bangladeshi government still can make Sylhoti as a second official language of Bangladesh. Sylhotis didn’t fight for Bangla language. They fight for their rights and Sylhotis helped Bengalis to make Bangladesh a great nation. Don’t u realise there is more Sylhotis live in India than Bangladesh.They r Indian, Sylhoti.Assam has 6 more Sylhoti districts.Manipur has 1 district call Ziribam.Tripura has 3 more Sylhoti districts. Where everybody speak Sylhoti. Sylhoti people also live in Meghalaya,Nagaland and Mizoram as well.

Bengalis has been trying to kill Sylhoti language for more than 50 years and insulting Sylhoti language by calling It a dialect of Bangla. Sylhoti scripts are 2 thousand years old and Bangla is only 5 hundred years old. Sylhoti is a tonal language and Bangla is a non tonal language. Bangla has nothing to do with Sylhoti. Due to the dominant political reason of Bangladesh, Bengali speakers don’t want to recognize Sylhoti as a different language. But we Sylhoti people know Sylhoti is not a dialect of Bengali cuz when a dialect can developed It's own writing system and grammar It's no longer a dialect. It becomes a separated independent language. Sylhoti language even has It's own grammar and vocabulary too and It's not even a dialect of Bangla. Sylhoti language has nothing to do with Bengali language. Sylhoti language has all kinds of qualifications and features be a separated independent language.

@@sylotibaha830 So then what is the real Bangla? If all the dialects are seen as independent languages, the whole concept of Bangla will disappear. Every dialect is different, 'Bangla' is like an umbrella term. And we have a standard bangla so that people from all regions of Bengal could communicate with each other, it doesn't mean other dialects like Sylheti, Medinipuri, Chittagonian, Rajbonshi, Manbhumi aren't Bengali. I respect the fact that you love your regional dialect and I respect your regional culture, but just think... if everyone starts complaining that 'the language spoken in my region is so different from standard Bengali, and thus should be considered a different language, the whole concept of Bengal and Bengali will dissappear. There should be unity amongst our people, especially in this age when foreign languages are slowly becoming dominant among Bengali speakers. Hope you understand what I mean to convey. I did a personal research on my own in Sunamganj,Habiganj,Moulvibazar and Sylhot districts of Sylhot division. Only Muslim Sylhoti families claimed their male ancestors were Arab. We know Hindu Sylhotis are not fair/light skin and they look nothing like Arab looking Muslim Sylhoti people. They look like dark skin typical Indian or Bangladeshi looking features. My Paternal male ancestor came from Afghanistan 170 years ago.He was a follower of Sikhism.When he arrived to Sylhot division of Bangladesh, he converted to Islam.That's why our family last name is Khan and we inherit the last name from him.He also got married with a local indigenous Sylhoti women.He came to Sylhot division looking for a better life.Not everyone came to Sylhot as a trader for businesses but most of the foreigners came to Sylhot for trading businesses. My family is still holding the documents of our Afghan ancestor. Not all Sylhoti people has Middle Eastern or European ancestors. Especially for Sylhoti Hindus who still follow Hinduism. They didn't get married with these foreigners cuz they don’t get married out of their cast or religion. Those who don't follow the caste system of Hinduism they might got married but very few. Every Sylhoti Muslim family has at least one male ancestor who came from Middle East or Europe country to Sylhot division of Bangladesh as a trader or looking for better life. They all got married with local indigenous Sylhoti womens who converted to Islam from Hinduism.Majority of our foreigner ancestors were followers of Islam. Most of these local indigenous Sylhoti women had Hindu background from their ancestors. So Sylhoti people are a very mix race. That's why most of the Sylhoti people have Arab looking features. When Sylhoti people go to USA or UK most of the time foreign people mistakenly addresses Sylhoti people as a Middle Eastern or European for their Arab looking futures. Local Indigenous Sylhoti people been living in Sylhot division for thousands of years. As we all know according to the Sylhoti history when the ★Saint Hajrat Shahjalal★ came to Sylhot division 700 years ago with his 360 companions, that time a lots of local indigenous Sylhoti people converted to Islam from Hinduism. Saint Shahjalal and his 360 companions were also Middle Eastern and European by born. They came to preach Islam to all Non-Muslims in Sylhot division of Bangladesh.That's how Bangladesh became one of the Majority-Muslim country in Asia.

Why do you have a problem? Sylheti is an interesting language, and it's spoken by large communities in Bangladesh, Assam and London. And it's not a dialect of Bengali, it's a separate language. By the way dialects are not improper forms, like many think in the comments section. Dialects are very mutually intelligible and closely related language. Sylheti isn't a dialect of Bengali though, but who said it's not sweet? All languages are equally sweet. If you don't find it sweet then it's your personal matter, not a fact. Stop linguicism!
