video helped a lot. It feels good not getting yelled at by an old lady on BBO.

I hate that some people do that.

I enjoy your bridge videos, Peter. Just watched the 5 minute bidding video. Any chance you could make your charts clearer? I can barely make out what they are showing .....

Clearest information I’ve seen. Please blow up the chart. It’s impossible to read.

Nice and helpful video. Just want to point out a terminology error at about 4:58 minutes when Pete says "if you are the responder, partner of the Overcaller". Shouldn't this be partner of the Opener? Partner of the Overcaller is the Raiser.
@BridgeWithPete4 жыл бұрын
I think partner of the overcaller is the advancer - but either way there is ambiguity so I sometimes just simplify it but yes your right.
@amitabhdes4 жыл бұрын
@@BridgeWithPete Thanks Pete. Yes advancer is the term.

The chart shows "longest Minor" for both 12-14 pts and 18-19 pts. Should 18-19 pts be "longest Major Suit"?

in SAYC, never open a major with only 4 cards in it

Is this basic American bidding?
@BridgeWithPete3 жыл бұрын
This is standard American.

you lost me on the points. How do you know if you have 12 points? How are points counted.
@BridgeWithPete5 ай бұрын
points are just a way of evaluating how good your hand is. The normal way of doing this is giving yourself four points for any aces, three for any kings you have, two for any queens, and one for any jacks.

If you have to explain the bidding system to your opponents why not just speaking your HCP and suit count? I think it doesn't make much sense in a competivite sport
