With some French sounds Pin Yinl falls in place except "c" The seven initials do challenge English but that one letter gets me off every time.

Any recommendations on how to tell the difference between “j” and “zh”? They both sound similar, and if I don’t see the letters and you only speak it, I can’t pick it up. Thank you!

The way I get is this: J sounds like GYnastic and zh you go J again but your tongue is at the roof of your mouth as if it tried to block the air

As far as I know, you should study radicals and then characters. But practicing the sounds for a while will be helpful in the future.
