I've tried many videos, and this one is the best for beginners--slow, easy, a good amount of repetition, presents context, different speakers, presents practical, real-life dialogues, and it builds new structures on what was previously taught. It's obvious a teacher prepared this (she is one). Thank you!

If you like to learn Chinese systematically and make a very solid foundation. Welcome you or your friends to purchase the upgraded course from this site. www.everydaychinese.com/everyday-chinese-101/? 47:40 Just a cultural note Chinese don't add (de) when talking about family members or close friends, because (de) indicates possession and you don't actually own them. So it's better to just say the sentence without adding (de). For example, Mary's daughter would be ( Mary nü er )

Some simple tips for beginners about the pronunciation: À - It's like normal A Á - It's like 2 or 3 AAA Ā - it's like 1 A but long (AHH) ǎ - You have to put it with the word of the left and of the right (like for example hǎo would be (ha;ao) you say ha and you stop (it's a short pause) then you say ao. I hope you understood with my basic English ^^

I find it way easier to think of it as this: Ā - above a word is pronounced with a high tone À - goes from high to low Á - from low to high ǎ - from high to low to high It makes sense because the thing above word is litteraly angled in the way you are supposed to pronounce it.

thank you so much. I love the idea that you have different speakers exemplify a sentence or phrase. Sometimes, students struggle to comprehend other dialogues out of their lessons because they get used to listening to their teacher's voice the whole time. This could fix that problem.

The basic Chinese conversations in this video are very practical! As a student who has studied Chinese for 2 years, I often encounter situations where I need to use daily greetings like "hello" and "I'm good, thanks." For example, when I meet colleagues, I'll say "Good morning, is everything alright?" If I enjoy a Chinese dish, I'll tell the server "This food is delicious, thank you for the recommendation!" The numbers and age questions in the video are also very useful. My Chinese language partners often ask me questions like "How old are you? What's your phone number?" Now I can respond fluently in Chinese!

@@beztroska Not bad, one person really helps me a lot and sometimes says thing in full mandarin but it helps me to practice listening. They say I have really good pronunciation because I can say words like 'ren'. Once, I greeted a coworker in Mandarin and we exchanged a few 'lines' (dialog), and another coworker (Asian) turned around and said "Wha.. I didn't know that was you, I thought it was a new hire or something" haha. The most notable feature (for me) is the 'man, woman, child' translations as I get to hear a phrase 3 times different persons. I'd recommend for the 'curious beginner'.
