These phrases are nice, but harder to pull apart when you are trying to format what you are saying in my opinion. Because you are not able to separate each word. I would think that a video similar to this with straight vocabulary would help me learn faster.
@fusion96196 жыл бұрын
I was thinking the exact opposite. I would like 8 hours of Chinese people speaking naturally, with no pauses or English. When I am actively studying, I need it be slow ; but when I am sleeping or working, it would be nice to have a natural conversation playing for my subconscious to absorb.

I listened to this and I find that very little is useful. I married a Chinese girl and I visit China for 6 months out of the year since 2009. I have never used most of these phrases. Rarely have I ever gotten the wrong order. In Central China, they don't know what a vegetarian is. Nobody has peanut allergies because everything has peanuts in it. Even the oi,l they cook with is peanut oil. You would not ask for vacancies because you would call ahead for reservation in all the larger hotels. It would not be necessary to ask if they speak English because if they speak English, they would take one look at you, determine you are a foreigner, and instantly switch to English if they were able to do so. Only big hotels take credit cards. Generally, people in Chongqing (the biggest city in China) use their phones to pay for things. My wife is a flight attendant for United Airlines and was a flight attendant for Cathay Pacific. The first time she and her friends had a passenger who said she was allergic to peanuts, the Chinese attendants laughed their a** off because they felt they were being pranked. They never heard of that before.

It's been proven in studies that people retain and learn better if they have learned something just before they go to sleep as it is fresh in the short term memory and sleep is where short term memory is transferred to long term. So learning these before you sleep and then playing it as you sleep so your subconscious brain has it reinforced as the memories are transferred can quite possibly help people learn - in their sleep - just to let the skeptics in the comments know.
