Hi Richa, addicted to your videos. Thanks for helping guys from third world countries like me with poor schooling come out of the phobia of English. I could manage to fill gaps as many as possible with every video of yours in a relatively short span. I believe that mastering a language is a lifelong process. Thanks for helping me out in my mission.

When the by-agent is included in a passive sentence, and there is an adverb of time, is there a strict rule for the word order of the adverb of time? I.e.must the adverb of time come at the very end of the sentence (as long as it isn't at the beginning of the sentence)? Or can the position of the by-agent and the adverb of time be switched with no effect on the grammatical correctness of the sentence? Here are example sentences: a) The streets are cleaned by city workers every night. b) The streets are cleaned every night by city workers. Or should the adverb of time be placed at the beginning of the sentence to avoid the problem of "competing" with the by-agent entirely?

Could you please help me? currently, I'm referring to one of the exercises from Wren and Martin where we are asked to convert compound sentences to simple sentences. Exercise# 74 1) My friend arrived and we went for a walk. Answer: My friend having arrived, we want for a walk. I want to know how using "having arrived" changed the sentence structure into simple? Still, we have verb "arrived " and its subject My friend. If I'm not wrong in a simple sentence there must one tensed verb and subject for that tensed verb. Here we still have two tensed verb and subject for each. Please clear my doubt. It might be a silly question but for me its worth. Thanks
