He was arrested for selling pirated software... He was arrested - simple past (passive voice) Here ... Was is the - auxiliary verb, Arrested - verb and Pirated - is the adjective. I should've been more careful while explaining. I'm sorry for the mistake. Arrested is a past tense verb as well as an adjective. If we mean someone's state it should be considered as adjective. If we talk in sense of an action it should be considered as a verb (past tense verb, past participle verb)

இந்த பாடம் மிகவும அருமை. Suggestions: (1) He was arrested for selling (of) pirated software. இந்த வாக்கியம் Passive form (Voice) Arrested is not an adjective. Arrested is a past participle form of " ARREST". But the word "PIRATED" is an Adjective.

What about WALKING STICK ? GERUND or Adjective ?
@eficazacademysspokenEnglish
@eficazacademysspokenEnglish 3 жыл бұрын
The word 'walking' here gives the details (describes) about the stick. So the word 'walking' is an adjective. But together - walking stick - is a gerund - compound word.

I have a doubt mam please explain He hurt his head by running against a wall Why we should nt say like this without geround He hurt his head by runned against wall
@eficazacademysspokenEnglish
@eficazacademysspokenEnglish 4 жыл бұрын
The word 'runned' doesn't exist at all sir. There is no word like that. When there is a question 'how' we explain the way/manner with 'by + v-ing' How did the boy get hurt? - avanukku epidi hurt aachu? By running against a wall. - wall la edichukutadhaala avanukku hurt aachu. What happened to him? - avanukku enna aachu? He ran against a wall. - avan wall la edichukutaan. How did he become so rich? By selling those products.

SLEEPING BAG , it is Gerund only and can't be adjective as bag won't sleep.
@eficazacademysspokenEnglish
@eficazacademysspokenEnglish 3 жыл бұрын
If I had said that the word 'sleeping' in the sentence is a verb, your point would be right... i.e., a bag/pills can't sleep. The word is describing about the noun there... what kind of bag, pill, etc. So, obviously it is separately an adjective and together a gerund - compound word.
