I talked to her on the phone and she says she doesn’t speak English that well, but my gf and her always speak Ewe. So I will try to learn as much as I can b4 August (I’m Italian American). Thank you both for making this lesson!

Kwesi is Akan spelling. In Ghana depending on the part of the Ewe land you come from you will either be Korshie or Korsi. Ghana Southern Ewes will say Korshie while Central Ewes will say Korsi. Friday, Southern Ewe will say Afi for a girl and Kofi for a boy. Central Ewes will say Afua for a girl and and Kofi for a boy ( but usually the Ewe pronunciation of Kofi of both southern and central Ewes can slightly be different in tone from the Akan one). The Akan will write Afia and pronounce it as Efia funny though. The Akan will write

Nyrui: brother to your mother. Tɔɖia; junior brother to your father. Tɔga : senior brother to your father. Daga: senior sister to your mother. Daɖia: junior sister to your mother. Nɔvi: literally meaning my mother's child is sibling, male or female, biological siblings, or cursons and others in the extended family. There are no cursons in Africa. They're all refer to as ''Nɔvi'' my mother's child. Nye bi: the same in Ga language of Ghana. Mi nua: in Akan/Twi. And all meaning siblings or mother's child., male or female. In African culture across the continent, there's no African word for curson. Europeans brought about that family classification. Because, Tɔɖia means junior father to you, while your father becomes senior father to your tɔɖia's children. Same on the female side. Your mother autimaticalky becomes either a senior or junior mother to your daɖia or daga's children. And that's why you are all ''NƆVI'' one mother's children, and NOT cursons, because you interchange mothers by using the wird ''NƆVI'' The African family arragement is a buffer against poverty and orphanage. The African child especially in the Eʋe culture has many layers of mothers and fathers positioned to protect the child from all kinds of needs - emotional, spiritual and material. No differenciation

Yes. Please I would like to recommend some KZbin channel for you to subscribe and watch everything about yourself. And the people who owns the channels are not Ewes. Please subscribe to Akwetey Amarh, Osomafo Asem channels and watch it yourself. One thing I want you to know is the Ewes, Gas, Yurobas, Nagos, Akans, were the true Israelis? The people occupying Israel today were not the owners of that land. The actual name is eveh not Ewe. The white people evolved the time the homo sapiens moved to the far side of the earth. A lot happened in Antarctica by then the whole world is one not separated due to tectonic plates movement. Now the Ewes in Togo, Benin and Nigeria are called the Fon(Fo) people and those in Niger-Congo are called the Gbe people and in Ghana the Ewes (Evehs) so the meaning of "Fo" is to wake up or rise which means the first to wake up in the real meaning. And the "Gbe" means language also the "Eveh" means two or a hole. Why is two because they came as male and female and why is a hole because is very deep. Deep because everything came out of it when they started procreation. God asked the Ewes to move to Cannan and the name Cannan is Ewe name which means the soil yields or gave. The real name is "Kananu". When you trace the migration of the Ewes you get to know that where they travel from is very far so to them the whole earth belongs to them. Then they moved to settle at then time Egypt called "kemet" and they were sacked by the Egyptians and later on changed the name to Egypt. The Egyptians will tell you kemet means "black land" why because they met black people on that land and the name kemet doesn't end with "t" the real name is "Keme" which means within the sand. The Ewes who lived over there by then were called the "Gu"and Gu means the root. AS they were sacked some settled around the Nile River and they are the Niger-Congo people till date. You will see the Ewes in small group living in different countries.

@@butterflyt-y2727 yes you have to. There are a lot of things. And don't forget Jah(Yah) Selassie of Ethiopia his name is Ewe do you know? Selassie means what He heard or He listened in Ewe right and he is into God the actual name is Yah but not Jah in Hebrew and Yah or Jah is Ewe. Yah Mawu, Yah Afetolah, Yah Meaklolah, etc. You can search on Google that how do we say "I am" in Hebrew and compare it to how we say it in Ewe. Even the Ewe we are not speaking the correct one nowadays because we all want to be slanting it somehow so is now full of wrong spelling. Thanks bye
