I avoid using the Magnetic timeline to avoid the automatic movement of clips. I rather work over it

just downloaded Final Cut Pro today, I have been using iMovie previously. So I wanted to start a new project and begin with the very basics. No offense, your tutorial was totally useless to me. You jumped right into the super complex technical stuff, rather than starting a new project and taking it step by step.
