I hate these videos when someone shows the hook catching in their palm, a carps mouth is totally different to that of a human palm FACT!

Yea true it is very different, but the mechanics of a rig sliding off your palm are very similar to a rig sliding out of a carps mouth as the fish tightens the hook link.

The palm test works but only if the fish tightens up to the lead with a short hook length, balanced baits or pop ups act differently usually the palm test for me is for using bottom baits or short rigs
