you can't ever say "de les" in French. Always shorten to "des". Yes, even though here it means "of the" and not "a (plural)".

4:10 "affaires" can also means business in some contexts. "Faire des affaires" = To do business Je travaille dans les affaires = I'm a business man Occupe toi de tes affaires = Mind your own business. Also, if you buy something cheaper than you thought or make a great deal, you can say "J'ai fait une (bonne) affaire". It has the same meaning even without the adjective "bonne" which is implicit here.

Merci beaucoup. Thank you. I learn French myself using Duoliungo app for about 4 months. Anyway, your lectures are really useful for me thanks to your very good pronunciation. Your lectures are focused on the mostmust-to-know words and rules. Is there a method how to remember the gender of the nouns? They are misleading for me. In my mother tongue the genders are very different. For instance "the cat" in my language is feminine gender, but in French it is masculine gender.
