Anyone know why is it you can drink the broth in hot pot but not in shabu shabu?

Thank you for your comment. The shabushabu soup has odor from the scum, not many people like to drink it but of course it is drinkable. But at home some people skim off the scum from the soup (after you enjoyed Shabushabu) and then put some noodles to make Udon or add rice to make Zosui (rice porridge).

Most of the shabu shabu restaurants I tried I drink the broth with Noddles after I finish eating the meat. Is it wrong?
