I think once you understand the use of functions or the way they are used it just makes everything so much easier to understand, some teachers just go into this topic and just give you questions without understanding what functions help with or what they do exactly making the topic just very vague or forgetful that you will need to remember all over again. So I found this video very useful!

Yeah, it’s like an English-speaking Korean who speaks both languages and expects you to understand the language without context clues solely because they know Korean and expect you to know because they gave you a translation dictionary. Math has to relate otherwise we’re just memorizing hoards of language for the sake of a degree but probably won’t use it again. In essence, it’s useless to some degree for those who don’t directly use it in some practice or trade. The uses derived from it are helpful but no one’s really applying it if it’s simply memorizing long strings of information. You might as well be learning how to code.

I am 61 years old, relearning math. This is the first time that things make sense to me. Back then, we were never given a context, a global overview, or practical use to what we were learning. So I just parroted the fragments of math I had learned in class, just to pass my exams. I didn't like math at all, because I felt lost in maze of details without any context, purpose, or awareness of practical application to this information. Thank you so much for making math, fun, easy, and worth learning. God bless you and your work.

Look Julee Rowley, MATH started 500 years ago. there were many developments that have been made. To answer your question, this is the answer. In math = 1 +1 = 2 , In algebra 1x + 1x = 2x now, admit it , your math foundation is weak because it is in your mind. WHY WEAK? IT IS WEAK BECAUSE , IT COULD BE YOUR TEACHER METHOD OF TEACHING OR YOU YOUR SELF. STYLE OF LEARNIBNG . To be good in math YOU NEED TO CARRY ON ALL THE FUNDAMENTALS / FOUNDATION LEARNINGS IN THE PAST. IT REQUIRES A SERIES OF UNDERSTANDING FROM BASIC RULES TO HIGHER MATH RULES. FOR OVER 500 YEARS THERE WERE MANY STRUCTURES OF MATHEMATICS. EACH STRUCTURE HAS DIFFERENT RULES TO FOLLOW. AND THOSE DIFFERENT RULES WILL SURELY CONFUSED YOU. IN ORDER NOT TO CONFUSE, YOU NEED TO REMEMBER OR MEMORIZE THOSE RULES WITH SPECIFIC APPLICATION. DONT GET ME WRONG I JUST WANT TO ANSWER YOUR QUESTION
@roxthebox46442 жыл бұрын
People are good at different things! You may be great at something a person good at math may not be good at. We all lack and exceed at certain activities. Though it sucks we all have to be good at one thing to pass school, Don’t worry, you’ll get through it ^^
@noxy2812 жыл бұрын
There are a lot of reasons that people may seem to have an easier time understanding math a lot better than others. Could come from the approach they take or just the fact they tend to do a lot more math than other people resulting in a brain that slowly becomes much more adjusted towards the subject and the type of thinking necessary for it. It's really as simple as that. If you want to to have an easier time with math, then you need to do it more often but with a few extra things to take into account. The brain works just like any other muscle in your body. When you workout, if you aren't pushing your body and having a hard time then you aren't really getting a proper workout. Same goes for your brain. Focus on the areas you are struggling in. Try to properly understand some of the concepts instead of relying on memorization to carry you. Most importantly though, don't give up just because you think math isn't for you or you just aren't meant to be good at it. Everyone struggles with math in some way or another and I don't think there is one person who can truly say they find math as a whole easy without lying.

I think the people that understand it more are able to apply what they've learned to questions without asking "why?" They're able to understand the math at face value and don't need to understand the meaning behind what it does fundamentally.

Think of a function like a meat grinder: you put a number in, and turn the crank (do the math operations) and you get another number out. people are confused by function notation but all it really is is an equation just like Y=X times three. The only difference is you're substituted f(x) for the Y, but it's the same thing. You put an X value you get out another Y value or a value for f(x).
@raddad90412 жыл бұрын
This was clear and concise, and I suppose I understand some functions of a function. However this still does not tell me exactly what a function is? From this video, I've gleaned that it is a rule utilized to handle and input in order to provide a specific output - great, I think, but what is a real-world example of a function? In the example you've provided, the output is a specific point on the X/Y axis, so can these be used in navigational contexts, is this spatial information?

Where do we need functions in programming ? And is this video enough for learning functions? I'm non math background student and learning programing

@@spysynth1422 Functions are ultra easy in programming and you don't need math studies to understand them. You don't need math studies for anything in programming actually because everything you need will be clear by programming it self. Functions are nothing more than a containers where you put your code. You will need that in case when code is big and need to be repeated so instead of writing a same massive code over and over you can put it in your function and call it with the same custom name and that's it. To make a function all what you need is your own custom name for that function, few labels and boom your function is ready to be filled with code.

@@spysynth1422 Recursion is when function call it self inside it self after you call that same function somewhere else. * function function myNameForFunction() { myNameForFunction(); } * calling function somewhere else myNameForFunction(); What I said is when you call a function with some regular code inside without recursion * function function myNameForFunctinon() { // some massive code which need to // be written many times in different files // and I don't want to write it over and // over again } * calling function somewhere else * this is enough to call a function * and everything inside will be executed myNameForFunction();

Hi. I'm Polish but I don't understand videos about function in my native language, so I thought maybe someone had made a video that would help me understand this topic, but in another language. So... here I am! And now I understood. Thank you.
