This quality teaching that does not need high tech. I am looking at a few ways of learning as ultimately the learner is responsible for their own progress but this lady answers the questions that other courses leave unanswered. She should be really proud of herself for sharing something so valuable without asking for any return.

I just decided I wanted to start learning Hindi, and I always enjoy learning alphabets and this video is so amazing. The real time questions and answers help clarify things so much better than just being read and having repeat/write them down. Absolutely amazing and look forward to going through the other videos! ♥

All the hindi teachers everywhere i've seen don't teach hindi very clearly. This teacher also made some mistake by not including examples Ben/Hen/ Ken is ए = e sound Ban/Ran/Fan/Can is ऐ = ai sound Also, difference between A/अ, AA/आ and AH/अ: is not clear from her example. Most people in west pronounce karmA कर्म as karmAA. She didn't elaborate on how ऋ(ri) is considered a vowel and how it is equivalent of semi-silent r sound of english like in "water." Also, her 'औ/au' pronounciation is so bad she compare it to "aw". No, " saw" is not pronounced via औ. "Loss" would be good word where औ is used. She didn't even teach concept of halant/ ् and "varna vicched" K is written as क् Ka is written as क Where क्+अ=क All hindi teachers are very bad. One should learn hindi from me.

It's 2:40 AM and I'm learning Hindi I am Taiwanese, I found that using our phonetic symbols ㄎㄏㄖ, russian cyrillic ч, french i, even german r ... can pronounce your language even closer. But your categorization just fantastic, the teaching pace is decent for foreigners. : ) (though some videos already point out how many languages in India exactly...)

I started watching Indian (hindi) TV in 2011/2012 and by 2015/2016 I was good enough that I could watch full shows without subs and I understood almost everything (except few words here and there but I understood the plot)... I stopped watching in 2017-2022 I still remember it but now I want to properly learn the language (reading-writing-speaking) because I learned the language by listening and I couldn't read and write and I've always felt embarrassed when I tell someone "oh I know hindi!!..... but I can only translate what I hear & nothing else" so now this is the 1st lesson I found that I like and this is gonna be the start for me! hopefully by next year I can really master the language.

sorry for interrupting here, but what is that knocking sound in the background? couldn't help but observe it while watching the video. i have recently started interesting myself in indian scripts, and how words look when written, so that fascinates me a lot. although i can speak hindi almost 100 percent, i concider hindi to be my 5 or 6th language, since my native tongue is farsi. speaking of farsi, i find urdu to be very easy to understand. for exemple, if i listen to standardised urdu, i can get the gist of what's being said without even having to translate, since my hindi bass is very strong, and the persian lonewords help me a lot. but i also love to see different words in different indian languages written in they're alphabets. for exemple, what does a tamil word look like when its written, or what does a kannada or telugu word look like when written. so these types of videos help me a lot. thanks for explaining how its done. hello from an iranian woman in Sweden.

It is excellent for teaching me how to write them, and for giving me some idea about the pronunciations. But I feel like the pronunciation information given is not very precise. The short and long vowels are shorter and longer in duration, not like in English where a short o is a different sound from a long o, as "hot" and "roof". Also in the "i" sound it sounds like a long e that is short duration, as in "tree" maybe, but then the example is "thin" which I would think of as a short vowel in English (with a short duration I guess). So that is slightly confusing but I can get that somewhere else. This is a good thing about the teaching: She waits for the student to finish writing and look up, and then she gives the information about the u. I like that!

Thanks for your comments. I would like to offer my explanation here. In Hindi, o and oo are different vowels..its not just short or long of the same vowel. 'Go' and 'saw' are different vowel sounds thus. 'Go' has a short o sound while 'saw' has a long o sound. For the short oo and long oo also the example is 'good' and 'roof'. One can understand it with observing that there are only 5 vowels in english while 13 in Hindi.

I am a native Hindi speaker from the land of its birth, i.e., Delhi. Some of the sounds and the usages of certain alphabets as taught by the teacher in this video were incorrect. Maybe she did it on purpose to simplify. Anyway, I won't rectify those here. The Hindi alphabet uses Devanagari script and like most languages of the Indian Subcontinent, borrows the bulk of its sounds from Sanskrit. A few sounds are borrowed from other regional languages, while some others are foreign imports. Here is the extensive Devanagari alphabet, of which the Hindi sounds form a subset. Vowels: अ, आ, इ, ई, उ, ऊ, ऋ (used only in Sanskrit words directly adopted in Hindi), ॠ (not used in Hindi, used only in Sanskrit), ऌ (not used in Hindi, used only in Sanskrit), ॡ (not used in Hindi, used only in Sanskrit), ए, ऐ, ओ, औ, अं, अः (used only in Sanskrit words directly adopted in Hindi) Consonants (all these alphabets are used in Hindi, unless explicitly mentioned otherwise): क-family: क, ख, ग, घ, ङ च-family: च, छ, ज, झ, ञ ट-family: ट, ठ, ड, ढ, ण त-family: त, थ, द, ध, न प-family: प, फ, ब, भ, म Interior-family: य, र, ल, ळ, व (ळ is not used in Hindi, but used in other languages like Marathi and dialects like Hariyanavi) Friction-family: श, ष, स, ह (ष is used only in Sanskrit words directly adopted in Hindi) Vowels imported from other Indian languages: अँ Consonants imported from other Indian languages: ड़, ढ़, झ़ Vowels imported from foreign languages (used to express English language sounds): ऍ, ऑ Consonants imported from foreign languages (used to express Persian, Arabic and English language sounds): क़, ख़, ग़, ज़, द़, फ़

@@rashmiganotra hi, thanks for appreciating!! No, I did not read this specifically in any book. Most of my knowhow is from my school days studying Hindi as a subject until middle school. Any further enhancement happened gradually through random means (songs, articles, websites, news, etc.). I never consciously gathered any language knowhow and have just kept my eyes and ears open to any new thing that I come across anywhere. I am really sorry if you find this reply underwhelming.
