Same here! Nobody has ever been able to explain the vowels (or any of it) to me so simply, and with the kindness and patience this teacher has. I have literally learned more in these five videos than I've learned in... Basically years of trying to learn from people's explanations and books. I am jumping up and down going, "OMG I GET IT! I ACTUALLY GET IT!!!" Such an amazing feeling. I'm so glad your feeling the same way! And I thought Arabic was difficult.... Haaaa. 😊

Did you read the comment written about how adult females typically walk behind young girls in India? I was trying to think of a way to remember the placements of the long and short i's and that comment just gave me the easiest way! The short i's are like the little girls in the front and the long ī's are like the older women in the back, exactly how the i's are placed in Hindi. So ingenious! Perhaps you knew that already, but I just read that comment and thought I would share it in case it would help. Cheers!

In India little girls customarily walk in front of the family or of the group while grown-up women walk behind, hence why as regards the i sound, the most frequent indicator of feminine, short i comes before the cluster and long i after.
