Realistically, a female space marine would probably look like a man anyway. Think what female body builders look like, and multiply that to ridiculous levels. Space Marines are so different to normal humans that the starting point of any human would probably give the same result.

Except that space marines being male only is itself a retcon. In the early days of 40k, there were female space marine miniatures. Apparently they sold so poorly that they were written out of the lore later.

I think of the Space Wolves as what you get when you artificially keep an old warrior culture alive, long past its extinction. Yes They can take off the armor, which official w40k videos but also the codex have shown. however most space marines really dont have time to be able to relax.

I don't think they are permanently molded on. You could roll a chaos mutation where that happens, and either a weapon or your armour becomes some unholy symbiotic thing. Or you could roll a mutation where you walk like John Cleese. Dreadnoughts are walking coffins of eternal terror where some sod is permanently hooked into a life support system. They are unable to get out.
