Is this also valid on a system boiler? Also, how do identify which one is 1 2 3 etc radiator in a row?

Yes! If you start at your boiler and work away from it, for example, if it's downstairs in the kitchen then work with that one, then move to the next nearest room and keep working away, eventually moving upstairs and repeating this process.

@@Heatable thanks for advise. I got a new system boiler Ideal Vogue Max : may I ask if that is efficient in condensing mode? Just seen a comment someone noting it be the worst boiler and wont be efficient. Not sure what to believe now. On other hand i a trying everything to save money.

How do you balance a system where the downstairs rads are fed with pipework dropped from upstairs to each radiator, and how without lifting boards do you know in which order rads are fed

Balancing a system where downstairs radiators are fed from upstairs can be a bit of a challenge, but here's a simplified approach. Typically, the radiators closest to the boiler heat up first. In your setup, downstairs radiators are likely to feed into the upstairs ones. Start by fully opening all radiator valves. Then, turn on the heating and feel each radiator. Adjust the lockshield valve on the ones that heat up the quickest, slightly restricting the flow. This pushes more heat towards the slower ones. Keep adjusting until you get an even temperature distribution. It's a bit of trial and error, but it works. It's always best to consult a professional for precise balancing if you find it too tricky.

I presume I set the trvs to max before begining to balance, and with a bosch greenstar what is the rad symbol on the boiler panel for? I presume it's circulating water temp,if so what is the benefit of not having it at it's highest during winter, loving these videos

@@user-cb1qm8cw8s Yes you need them to all be fully open (set to max). The radiator symbol is the circulating water temperature. The benefit is that by setting it lower, it doesn't use as much gas and anything under 70 degrees the boiler will condense better. This also means you'll save money. Hope this helps!
