I. Can do a gliss I slide my fingers. And I pitch the gliss with my mouth at the same time.

what are the notes with the "o" symbol above them
@RobinSeletskyClarinet4 жыл бұрын
Those are "ghost" notes. You finger them by overblowing open G in the throat tones (ie no fingers at all). It'll come out a flat high D but because it's "ghosted" the pitch doesn't really matter.It's part of the ornament called a krekht which you can learn about in these other videos: kzbin.info/www/bejne/mJLWcnSXi5yEodU kzbin.info/www/bejne/bGeTgJZmhqZnY80

@@RobinSeletskyClarinet I'm glad I asked, that lesson helps! I'm well practiced in jazz trumpet, blues harp, and Irish whistle/flute. I just started on clarinet because of my love of klezmer, and I am entranced with how simultaneously very different and yet very similar the techniques are. I'm sure I'll have chops like Benny Goodman in no time! ;-)

@@verdatum So glad you find it helpful. Yes, the inflections are both similar and VERY different across traditions. I hope your love of klezmer continues to grow and grow!
