Fantastic coaching Lee, just did a $10 thank you. Lee i often think how many movement patterns are shared with skiing this reminds me of grand slalom skiing. I was doing all of this yesterday, so much more dynamic, safe and fun. Id be interested on your thoughts on the transition between turns, unweighting, swapping feet and then dropping to set the new "edge" to get the new carve on. Another cross sport observation is horse riding, specifically the hinge, allowing the horse to pivot underneath you, lightness on the reins, matching the terrain, not leaning back. Heavy stirrups, light reins. Telling the horse through leg pressure, body rotation and looking where you want him to go. Many thanks Coach. You're the best. Ken

Thank you for the kind words and the money! If enough people are willing to pay, I'll make more how-to videos for KZbin. All of my best content is behind the paywall at my member site www.llbmtb.com. You'll find the most complete approach to cornering anywhere. I love how similar all the sports are at the core level.

A wise man once said, "Low... lean... look." This cornering mantra has served me well for years. That wise man was you, Lee. Thanks.

Right on man. That is wonderful. That was one of the earliest insights from 20 years ago, and it still works! That said, I've discovered a new "twist" on leaning the bike. It works way better for cornering and ties to all other forms of pumping.

@@j.t6264 hi! Learn to ride with either foot forward. Corner with the inside foot forward. For a right turn that’s right foot forward. All the details at www.llbmtb.com

I don't understand loading the outside pedal by backpedaling? I don't understand how this puts more traction down, isn't it the same amount of weight going through the bottom bracket the whole time?
@costalcu
@costalcu 2 ай бұрын
I think he's talking about the rear foot: instead of doing a whole revolution, you just backpedal a little to put it in the 6 o'clock position. This way the weight shifts to the outside to counterbalance the lean of the bike. This creates the same traction you would have with level pedals and straight bike.

@@costalcu ahhhh counterbalance, that makes sense, the pedal @ 6,7,8 o'clock is acting like a lever and in turn creating traction. Thanks for helping clear that up for me.
