had a shag in the 70's . Have thin hair. Best cut I ever had and he said I should always have a razor cut. Today hard to find someone to do razor cut. Thanks for your video

This is pretty much how I do my hair. I’ve been cutting it myself ever since I grew it out, using KZbin videos to guide me. This is definitely one of the most informative I’ve found. Very good work!

I had both a shag in about 1972 in 7th grade, and a mullet as a young woman in the mid 1980s. The mullet was great for my thick, wavy, fine hair, and it was fun! I like the style in this video, and am considering it for my next major style change, but my hair has to be longer in the back. 😊

"Thank you for sharing your hair journey-what a fun history of styles! 😊 It’s so great to hear that the mullet worked so well for your thick, wavy hair back in the day. I’m thrilled you like the style in this video! Adding length in the back can definitely give it that extra versatility you’re after. Let me know if you have any questions or need tips when you’re ready to make the change-I’d love to help!"

I had a shag cut in 1971 when I was a 'tween. I was about to go on a lengthy, overseas trip and my mom decided my almost waist-length hair would be an encumbrance. I looked great and was thrilled to have a "mod" hairstyle. NO stylist today seems to understand how to approach cutting a shag - particularly directing forward to the guide, around the face, which creates that all important cheekbone framing, and then the continued use of diagonal sectioning, back of the ear. WELL. DONE.

I'm glad you found this tutorial helpful, the cheekbone framing is key!

Beautiful. Question : Did you connect the sides with the back? Sometimes I dont know how to connect the sides when I cut the front forward.
@HairByJamesAnnabel4 ай бұрын
Hey! When you over direct forward, you are gradually building weight towards to the back zone. This is what connects it. If the hair is short it may not connect, as long as it visually looks good thats all that matters

"Thanks so much for the kind words! I totally get where you're coming from-razors aren’t for everyone, and that's what makes hairdressing so unique! It's all about finding the tools and techniques that work best for each style and client. Appreciate the love, though! 💕"
