Thanks for this one Conor, self assessments were something I was putting off for so long, until I realised how important they were for objective testing, this video made it seem much less complicated 👍

Brilliant information. I run Ultra marathons and after 100+ kms over 12 + hours of constant running over rough terrain certainly shows up any imbalances! Conor’s videos have helped me understand my imbalances adjust my form and improve my ability to literally run races from dawn to (beyond) dusk, finishing strong and after a few (4/5) days recovery run again like it never happened. Game changing!! 👍

I had a dynamic hip screw 20 years ago, I'm now 53 and a competitive ironman athlete, my opposite hip is always tight and painful. I do wear bespoke orthotics with a 10mm heel raise... It feels like my right hip(non hip screw) is suffering but I've no idea where to start.

I’m all jacked up. I have better hip rotation when I move my knees to the left side, yet better range of motion on the right leg straight leg lift? Is it possible for your hip to be favored to one side depending on the action being performed?

I did the test and it looks like I have left turned pelvis. Can someone please explain which side I need to do the glute max workout and which side I need to do the adductor? I read his description but I couldn’t figure it out. English is my third language. Thank you!

If you read the description, pretty sure "the side you are turned to" in your case would be youe left side.
@RayYM_XXX
@RayYM_XXX 2 ай бұрын
your glute max workout will be on the left side, means you left hip is on top and right hip on floor. And this might help you to understand this better: you see the details in the gulte max video, when you set up you need to reach your top knee a little bit forward. in your case it is your left knee. so when your left knee is reaching forward youf hip will naturally rotate more to the right side, it will help to "untwist" your left turned pelvis.

Is it possible for the pelvis to be rotated to one side and the sacrum rotated to the opposite side? I've been seeing specialists trying to figure out this si joint dysfunction and psoas dysfunction (all on right side). I know right hip is internally rotated. Left hip is externally rotated. I feel like also my right QL is pulling on the top of my illac (hip) bone, relative to the sacrum. The si joint is hypermobile. Ligamentopathy. Not purely positioning. But I think it's jammed up and the ligaments cant catch a break. A viscous cycle. That and adhesion and nerve entrapment in the whole pelvic area, low back, hamstring. They said that my sacrum is rotated to the left, which I thought is interesting because, a few months ago, my pelvis was classified as rotated to the right and I dont recall if its still that way or it's neutral or rotated to the left. My femur is rotated on the left which makes sense because my left hip is externally rotated. As a result, my lift tibula is internally rotated for balance, causing my left knee to tilt inward when standing with both feet straight. If I turn out my feet, so left foot goes left, right foot goes right, my knees face forward and I have better balance. Widening my stance also gives better balance than narrow stance. Standing on one leg is also suspect. They also noticed that si joint unlocks on my left side during flexion while standing and then sitting when I go into a slouch. My left side doesn't move basically. My right side moves. My pelvis appears to be stable when standing but it moves when sitting, particularly when I go from sit up with butt out to that slouch position. So my pelvis is not consistent when standing vs one leg vs sitting. And now I'm thinking that my left side is not moving because of too much external rotation. They said my femur is rotated. When I stand and move my butt back a little bit, the femur is in the correct position and my pelvis looks good or better. So to get my left side to move to take pressure off my right side, I thunk the answer is get the left hip to internally rotate more and work on externally rotating the tibula by addressing my left foot, which is flatter than my right foot. Both are flat feet but the right has more arch. The left feels like no arch. Like a caveman foot. I'm not sure if all this will fix my si joint dysfunction, though. I know core and breathing and getting stacked is critical. But the name of the game is to get that si joint stable by getting the ligaments to heal and be strong. That's the end goal.
@ephelesfrance7006
@ephelesfrance7006 2 ай бұрын
the name of the game is NOT to get the si joint stable. but to address what pattern you have. which seems like left AIC pattern. there is also no end goal. you do all the tests and test if you are in extension. if yes do extension rehab. as it most be done first. then work away at all the internal rotation you have and external rotation of the hip you have. si joint is stupid concept who the hell told you to focus on that? its just a symptom of your body not being in as much a neutral pattern as it could be. as we are never 100% neutral as always are body is asymetrical. just when it takes over too much that it becomes a problem.
@johnhodgeman3980
@johnhodgeman3980 2 ай бұрын
@@ephelesfrance7006 what is the test for extension and the rehab for that? My posture and alignment didnt get out of whack and then my si joint dysfunction started. I had an injury that caused my si joint to become dysfunctional. Big difference. I still had the same pattern and misalignments when I was pain free before the injury. It only matters now because my si joint cant do its job without help because the ligaments are injured. Getting into proper alignment and stacked should hopefully take more pressure off the joint so that the ligaments can heal. That's what I'm trying to do.

For the love of Christ compels us, because we judge thus: that if One died for all, then all died; 15 and He died for all, that those who live should live no longer for themselves, but for Him who died for them and rose again. 16 Therefore, from now on, we regard no one according to the flesh. Even though we have known Christ according to the flesh, yet now we know Him thus no longer. 17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. 18 Now all things are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation, 19 that is, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not imputing their trespasses to them, and has committed to us the word of reconciliation. 20 Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us: we implore you on Christ’s behalf, be reconciled to God. 21 For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him. 2 Corinthians 5:14-21
