"Again, if you listen actively..." that is the best advice in the whole video. Active, focused listening.

That's the thing about the blues that I haven't been able to find in any other music styles. The emotion that seems to just flow from the player into the guitar. It's like the guitar is singing and you can feel their pain.

Sure, but also check out Mark Knopfler (e.g. Telegraph Road Part II)

The hardest part for me is stringing it all together. I have a good grasp on what notes to hit when. But my sentences haven't connected fully yet. They dont quite resolve and make sense a lot of the time.. working on it! This guy has a lot of good information.

Wow that was really great, I've had the hardest time staying in one place and making sense of it, Or getting the most of those few strings And your example for this hole thing kinda opened up some doors for me, For that I say thank you, I was almost ready to give up 2 years of trying to learn until this, Its just enough gas to keep me going, Thanks again.

@SuperRand138 жыл бұрын
+Smile Fleury because they're the type of people that believe being a good guitarist means you play twelve billion notes a second, where as everyone else understands speed is just a small part of it. Sure a fast solo can sound good but if it's not been thought about or got any emotion behind it it just won't feel the same, and the feeling of a song is what really counts.

You don't use a pick - why...??
@ryanwhite36636 жыл бұрын
Picks aren't essential. A lot of great guitarists rarely use them, to name a couple: Mark Knopfler, Jeff Beck
@jcm-ls5gs5 жыл бұрын
He probably lost his guitar pick, and said F..k it....I learned how to finger pick when I was a teenager, because I was always losing picks. I mainly play with a pick, but it is nice to be able to do both.

Some of the "boring chit chat" is very useful and informative. Space, time, breathing, leaving gaps etc. I wouldn't skip the first bit if I were you.

The explanations are the most important part if we could figure this stuff out just by listening to our favourite players we wouldn't need to search for help.
